Lucky Lex’s upcoming EP, FreightRhymer, is a concept project inspired by his experiences as an OTR trucker. The EP delves into the solitude, challenges, and reflections encountered on the open road, offering listeners a unique perspective on life behind the wheel. 

FreightRhymer offers a compelling glimpse into the life of a trucker through the lens of hip hop. Lucky Lex invites listeners to embark on this journey, experiencing the highs and lows of the open road. Stay tuned for the EP’s release in 2025.

Jonathan tobin est un artiste musicien né en 1983 dans le 83. Actif principalement à titre de
compositeur et d'arrangeur, il s'illustre également comme instrumentiste, accompagnateur (claviériste & guitariste) et professeur. 

Manifestant de façon précoce un talent et un instinct notoire pour le piano et la musique – doublé d'un vif intérêt pour les productions cinématographiques – il rêvera très jeune d'effectuer une carrière comme compositeur de musique de films, rêve qu'il poursuit et concrétise toujours aujourd'hui.

Bien qu'essentiellement autodidacte dans l'âme, il complète un diplôme d'études collégiales au cégep Saint-Laurent en composition électroaccoustique et piano classique en 2009. Il s'ensuit une formation en composition et techniques d'écriture à l'université de Montréal ainsi qu'une formation plus poussée en interprétation piano.

Dès son arrivée à Montréal en 2006, Jonathan Tobin se fait très actif dans le milieu musical underground et participe activement à de multiples projets tant à titre d'instrumentiste que d'arrangeur. Il compose et arrange notamment de la musique pour une/des troupe/s de musique contemporaine (Human Playground, ...) ainsi que divers événements du type Flash Mob (Production Lulu & Castagnette). Il travaille également de très près avec Samian de 2009 à aujourd'hui comme compositeur, arrangeur et à la création de ses albums (Face à la musique, 2010 – Enfant de la terre, 2014) en plus d'être claviériste et guitariste pour la formation. 

L'artiste oeuvre finalement sur différentes productions cinématographiques à titre de compositeur, entre autres, avec Vincent Ouellet sur plusieurs courts-métrages (Le jour où j'ai appris, La guerre des ex, L'esprit de la Saint-Jean) et cofonde sa propre compagnie de production (Henry Méliès Productions) en 2014.

En somme, il aura collaboré à près d'une dizaine d'albums, composé et arrangé la musique de plus de 20 courts métrages & publicités, le tout diffusé d'est en ouest du Canada, en Europe ainsi qu'au Sénégal.
