I recorded this song on 01/24 and haven't even polished it yet but today on 01/26 I lost an idol, role model, and a hero to me by the name of Kobe Bean Bryant, and decided it would be a good time to share some passion inspired by the likes of his legacy and mentality to always push forward to attain your goals no matter how many times life brings you down. On the second verse you'll hear me say "easier to fuel your passions with sadness, I might just fuck around take the L like the (Orlando)Magic, but I ain't see Kobe in my city when it happened, my problems ain't real compared to something tragic like gettin' stuck in traffic." Back in 09' Kobe and the Lakers won the NBA Finals against the Orlando Magic 4-1 and I missed every chance to see Kobe in real life as I was growing up because my family was too poor to afford tickets to any game. In 2012 the All-Star game took place in Orlando, FL in which Kobe attended a shoe release conference held at the Florida Mall which I tried to race to and catch him there but got stuck in traffic so I got to the mall too late and I missed another chance to see him. Now it hits harder that he is gone forever and I'll never meet him the way I would have loved to but his mentality and perseverance will remain in the spirits of his fans and loved ones for generations forward. This one's for you Mamba.

I like to think every sleepless night is a step closer to my dreams. Grew up struggling out of Puerto Rico to Orlando, Florida and skipped all the way across to Bellingham, Washington to show love from one coast to another and to bring it right back home where we need it now more than ever. I fell in love with the peace here and it allows me to focus more than I ever have, (even with how high I get) get to experience naturally reserved beauty everywhere I go and most importantly collaborate and meet the talented, loving and well spirited people of Bellingham.
