For Pan-Pot's second release on their new imprint they fall nothing short of what you would expect from the infamous duo.

"Grey Matter" is a stormer made especially for the intense peak time strobe lights of a dark sweaty club. The pulsing stabs and swelling bass in combination with the rolling hi-hats and shakers keep the energy flowing upward. 
Don't let the word grey in the title fool you, this track is more a burning red. Just like the deep ominous vocal says, "We're burning"!

On the flip side is "Substance“ and with this one, Pan-Pot showcase their vast knowledge of what tension can do on the dance floor. From beginning to end, it teases with builds that never quite go over the edge. Constantly increasing, it creates the desire for just a little more while never giving you the satisfaction of a resolution.

It's a concept that only masters can make work and when it does, it's nothing short of brilliant.

Twilight Soul is the closest one can get to the classic Detroit Techno keyboard sound that paints the landscapes of the desolated downtown streets. Gow definitely knows how to add percussion and strings so the whole track is in constant change thought moving up and down both in sounds and emotions. Twilight will keep the crowd moving all night long.

Alcatraz - Giv Me Luv (Trent Cantrelle Remix) [EDM.com Premiere]

This is about karma and being betrayed by the ones that you loved the most.
The instrumental of this was made in 2010 and it was released as a single in 2011, so this is the oldest song on the album. It has been revisited a couple of times to make it flow and sound better than the 2011 version, but I wanted to keep the original feel of it, so I tried to not change too much.
It took me forever to hunt down Hayze for this one. I knew he would be perfect for it and we had a phone conversation (he is from Malaysia) in 2010 about the song just to agree what kinda song we wanted to end up with. This is one of the few vocals on the album which worked straight away and didn’t change from the first demo. Hayze nailed it first time around. I think he is generally a one take singer.

Noir - Around Ft Hayze (Album Snippet)

Following on from his debut self-titled album, Danish House extraordinaire Noir provides us with the record’s second single, ‘Let It Go’, featuring vocals from Caitlin. The single features a remix from Stuttgart’s Johannes Brecht, and two new versions from Noir himself, in the form of a ‘Raw Club Cut’ and a thumping Techno remix.

The Raw Club Cut gets down to business with Caitlin’s fervent vocal sitting on top of the hypnotic, stabbing lead line that keeps the rhythm flowing through the entirety of the track. Pulsing pads continue to build emotion that build to the song’s conclusion. 

Johannes Brecht follows a different direction with a chilled beach jam, eminating a laid back bassline, chugging percussion and down tempo piano chords, topped by a warm pitched down vocal line. 

The single is concluded by Noir’s ‘Long Gone’ Techno remix, an intelligent piece with attitude. Mechanical synth lines go up against the vocals, now chopped and twisted to reflect the vibe, all above the pounding kick drum.

The 21st release on microCastle sees the return of legendary electronic music act Spooky to the label for their mammoth 'Polymorph' single. There are very few groups who can claim to be true pioneers; Spooky, however, are. Be it their auspicious debut album ‘Gargantuan' on William Orbit's Guerilla, touring with Aphex Twin, remixing Sven Vath or producing the ‘Involver' projects alongside Sasha , Duncan Forbes and Charlie May have been at the forefront of electronic music their entire careers. Their remix of Monaque's 'Resolutions' from July of 2010 was one of microCastle's most successful releases to date. It saw heavy play from John Digweed and Hernan Cattaneo while enjoying an almost 6 week run in the Beatport charts.

Charlie and Duncan's futuristic sound design is on top form here yet again with 'Polymorph' which is perhaps Spooky's most colossal creation to date. A well textured bassline with a grainy pulse sits at the track's foundation. Angelically styled synths and an electric flow of driving energy build tension throughout as we approach the heart of the composition. The harmonic refrains and shimmering synths create a hazy wall of melodic sound that once again pushes today's sonic boundaries to the max. As the tension continues to build and the gargantuan sweeps intensify they eventually reveal a celestial finale that is emotionally moving and profoundly diatonic.

The Irish duo Psycatron famed for their productions on legendary techno imprints Planet E, Cocoon, Tresor, R&S and Tronic make their debut on microCastle and provide the first remix of 'Polymorph'. Psycatron have truly outdone themselves and overhauled the original in a genuinely inspiring fashion. Their 'Polymorph' interpretation is certainly one of the most sonically charged, melodic techno records of the year. The Irish duo's razor sharp lines, clever drops, keen dance floor sensibility and distinctively modern sound shine through wonderfully for what results in a twelve and a half minute epic for the ages. With support already in from John Digweed, Laurent Garnier and Christian Smith this one looks set to be one of Psycatron's most revered productions this year.

Petar Dundov makes intelligent electronic music that breaks boundaries, moves feet and twists minds. He is without a doubt one of the most inspiring, original and daring producers in electronica, and with the likes of Sven Väth, Laurent Garnier, Hernan Cattaeno and Guy J singing his praises it would be hard to disagree. Petar follows his outstanding remix of Patrice Baumel's 'Vapour' for Trouw and provides the second and final interpretation of 'Polymorph'. Petar's subterranean groove is unmistakable and as profound as ever here, it's both unbelievably contagious and bursting with bubbly lava like textures. As the piece builds the uniquely interwoven lead melodies tease the senses mightily and the additional bass stabs enhance the groove even further. A dark drop with some sinister sound design sets the stage for a spine tingling, dulcet finale that is completely exhilarating.

The Queen of England may have celebrated her Diamond Jubilee this year, but 
we feel that reaching our very own Golden 50th release is almost of equal 
importance! Who else to present this honour but the head brothers-in-arms, 
Tiefschwarz with a stonking remix package of their smash ‘Hurricane’. 
They serve up a 2012 rework, which sharpens the original’s caramel beat to 
glass-cutting levels. French mischief makers dOP lend head jester Jaw to supply 
vocal atmospherics. His words are treated, menacingly mingling in with a 
swerving synth line, jacking snares piercing through the gloom. The track title’s 
implies a maelstrom of chaos, but every storm has a dark eye of stillness, and this 
is it. Then we have ‘Time & Space’ which features Souvenir favourite Daniel 
Wilde, last heard on Re.You’s recent hit ‘Falling’. There’s a snaking groove, with 
some repeating Martian piano chords, all laid over by Wilde’s blue-eyed soul 
tones.

On the flipside, there’s reinterpretations of Hurricane from two very promising 
young acts championed by Souvenir. Re.You has had a incredible year, his live 
with Rampa travelling all over, and hits on Gigolo, Mobilee and Souvenir to name 
but a few. Here he toughens up the skittering shakers, techy drums patterns 
driving it all forward. A robotic squelch heralds in the vocal with a magic phaser 
ray liberally applied to the instrumentation, turning the weirdness dial up to 11. 
Russian super-trio Special Case round things up, going Jacques Costeau deep, 
the beat soporific and the faint memory of a melody supplied by some jangling 
chimes, plus bassline knee-deep in squelchy mud. For those foregoing vinyl 
goodness, there’s a bonus trademark Tiefschwarz dub treatment: tempo kicked 
up, bassline spaced out and the vocal refrain chopped into a percussive weapon 
– in other words, rebuilt up as a dancefloor wrecking ball. Also, last year’s original 
version of Hurricane is included in all it’s sultry glory.
