Following recent releases for Parisian institution Ed Banger Records, a huge collaboration with rising vocalist Meleka, and his own Battle Weapons free download series tailored for the dancefloor, the UK’s resident genre-blurring boy wonder, Riton aka Henry Smithson, announces a brand new EP for Nest.

Title track ‘I Am The Whisper’ finds Bad Guy Ri Ri in a darker, deeper mode than previous releases, with vaguely sinister spoken word vocals from London-based singer/songwriter Molly Beanland peppering a propulsive beat and acid stabs. “I’m warning you, once we start we’ll never stop,” she threatens. B-side ‘Dance With Moi’ punches hard from the get go, expertly melding techno, electro and house influences in true Riton style.

When we decided to release Chloroformd in 2013, we knew that it was gonna be a special one; the vocals were catchy and the synths were lush and simply outstanding. The record managed to squeeze itself into charts, clubs and hearts in the same measure. Now that some time as passed since its initial release, we felt it deserved a special rework. For this task we brought in two very special remix guests. First, comes Sicilian-export Paul Ursin, who has already collaborated with and remixed names like Simple Minds, Danny Tenaglia or Turntable Orchestra. 

His remix infuses the tech-factor into the original with an infectious bassline and driving beats, while cleverly working the original synths and vocals whilst slowly leading to a killer breakdown. Just the right amount of darkness, with extra slice of groove for those eager to see bodies shaking in the dancefloor. 

For the second rework, we got the talented duo Me & Her, already members of our family roster and owners of a unique talent when it comes to creating beats. Their version oozes of mistery and climates, a synth bassline growls and progresses all through the track while insane vocal arrangements send your mind on a trip.

We are happy to bring back some memories with this one.
