The inaugural release for the label offshoot of Australian radio show Noise In My Head, 'Tracks For Performance' serves up two new tracks from LA-based anomaly Suzanne Kraft. Originally conceived as a contemporary dance score, these proven body movers are some of the producer's toughest work to date. 'Dead Ringer' finds a snake charmer harmonising with the racket of a metal works factory while 'Ruff Bathers' tries to operate the forklift under heavy sedation.

As part of longstanding no wave duo Naked On The Vague, murky girl group Knitted Abyss and extraterrestrial drone project Half High, Lucy Phelan has been a critical force in the Sydney DIY scene for over 10 years. Under the solo veil of Lucy Cliche, she annihilates with these four wavey techno tracks that honour her noise and punk ethos. With pounding drum sequences, draining synths and emotionless vocal echoes, her dark dreams sabotage our calculations of modern dance while demonstrating how physicality and the ethereal can interact.

OZ 45 – Steele Bonus & Noise In My Head

Studio Styrka springs a leak with three new tracks from Villa Åbo, the mainstay of veteran Swedish analogue unit Frak. Released by Australian label Noise In My Head, 'Sibilant' is the product of a mutual appreciation for Severed Heads and Terse Tapes, both of which propelled a 13 year old Jan Svensson to form Frak back in 1987. 

On 'Warming Up Signal', Svensson sounds the nuclear alarm with an unforgiving techno meltdown that leaves no survivors. The flip gives our disintegrated minds some relief with 'Drum-Magnet', a paranoid beat track recorded in collaboration with Karlskrona punk rocker Nebula, and the hypnotic 'Syndrome Beautiful'. 

Housed in cover art from P.A.M.'s Misha Hollenbach, the release will be available on vinyl from 23 October, and digitally from 20 November.

Proving herself at the controls of ://about blank, Panorama Bar, Stattbad etc, she’s now the curator and resident for quarterly party @oscillat_e (this month’s edition boasts an epic lineup of Bufiman, Izabel, Johanna Knutsson, Karen Gwyer and Objekt). She also presents two shows alongside Knutsson on Lichtenberg station Cashmere Radio – broadcasting pensive electronics as Low Power FM and club NRG as High Power FM. Here she’s given us more of the latter, a mangled mix of electro, leftfield and broken techno.
