“NOISE IS THE CLEF!”

Noise à Noise is wishing everyone a fantastic 2021 and presenting the end of the year compilation album(s) for the season of fall, which would be the last compilation in 2020.  These quarterly albums have hosted artistic experimental music since 2019, keeping the track with a focus on subjects like music composition, sound design and other expressive variables that are present within the context of noise. 
Noise a Noise is an independent label for experimental and noise music artists, especially for those who have a bond with the culture or in general to the art-scene in Iran, this is mostly because of scarcity of platforms with such priorities and approaches to sound in Iran, but it definitely priorities and value meaningful intercultural activities and approaches beyond the local scene.
This double-disk album is scheduled for a simultaneous release on December 31st, at the very last days of the second decade in the 21st century. Please note that there would be a pre-release on Bandcamp and on Soundcloud (only excerpts) from a day before and the worldwide release comes on iTunes, Spotify, Facebook and similar online music distribution platforms. 
Production partners are Studio A Tehran (for the post-production) and Arman Moghadam who have been developing generative patterns for the cover art since the first series.

لیبل و جمع مستقل موسیقی تجربی «نویزانویز»، ضمن تبریک سال نو میلادی از آلبوم(های) گردآوری پایان فصل پاییز خود رونمایی می نماید. این مجموعه، آخرین محصول منتشر شده در سال ۲۰۲۰ میلادی خواهد بود. این دسته از آلبوم‌های گردآوری از فصل زمستان سال ۲۰۱۹ میلادی، و با تمرکز به موضوعاتی مانند (ارزش هنری) سرایش موسیقی، طراحی صدا واستفاده‌ از متغیرهای دیگر برای تداعی معنی در زمینه‌ی نویز، در کنار پاره‌ای از پادکست و مصاحبه با هنرمند، میزبان آثار موسیقی تجربی هنری بوده‌.
این آلبوم دو جلدی برای انتشار همزمان هر دو جلد آن در آخرین روز پاییز در تقویم میلادی، روز ۳۱ دسامبر سال ۲۰۲۰ برابر با روز پنج شنبه یازدهم دی ماه سال ۱۳۹۹ برنامه‌ریزی شده است. لطفا دقت کنید که قطعه‌های آلبوم از یک روز پیش از زمان اصلی و به صورت پیش‌نشر از طریق سایت بندکمپ (و نسخه‌ی کوتاه) از طریق سایت ساوندکلاود در دسترس خواهند بود و نشر جهانی آثار از طریق عمده سایت‌های نشر موسیقی مانند آیتونز، اسپاتیفای، فیسبوک و دیگر سامانه‌های نشر موسیقی آنلاین (برخط) در زمان اصلی  صورت می‌گیرد.

"Serhat’s work has long been characterized by what it  rejects: global biennials that turn artists and their work  into emblems of the exotic; the promotion of tourism that  does the same to a country’s citizens; the establishment  of economic bonds between nations by and for their elites, under the guise of what he calls “dialogue fetishism.” Beğenal, a program of concerts, video screenings, performances, and political theatrics shadowing Istanbul Biennial, is the latest project to take up these criticisms. Pronounced almost like “biennial,”  beğenal is Turkish for “if you like it, buy it”; the project’s  logo is a man-as-red-star caricature vomiting up various  corporate-style logos, responding to the biennial’s slogan — courtesy of Brecht: “What Keeps Mankind Alive?” — with “This Is How Mankind Pukes!” But Serhat  is no mere refusenik. For the last year, he has been spearheading the International Roaming Biennial of Tehran, a nomadic exhibition of work that has traveled to Berlin, Istanbul, and Belgrade .. The biennial’s inaugural theme is Urban Jealousy. During a trip to Tehran in 2001, while he was working on the soundtrack to a documentary called Tehran”

The new music and sound performance by Ali Ostovar explores working with objects associated with his memories from the past, especially in relation to his childhood memories with his father in his native Iran. The title of the performance refers to a song of the same name by Delkash, one of the iconic singers of the 1940s–1960s in Iran. Ali listened to many Iranian songs at home during childhood, as his father was fascinated with listening to and playing traditional music. The title also refers to his life story of carrying a broken Iranian setar around Europe for more than 12 years to find someone who could fix it; he still kept it even after buying a new one.
At the performance, he will play approximately 60 minutes of live-electronic music using his laptop, a few cassette players, a synthesizer, and possibly other instruments, questioning what it means to bring the past into the present or keep it there. Does the past consist only of what we remember? And what about what we don’t remember?
He recreates personal memories by selecting different sound materials, using sonic metaphors and transculturation, and playing with time, frequencies, and transformation.

I composed this piece based on a poem, and I incorporated the poetic atmosphere into the composition.

گردباد که آمد
همه چیز را با خود برد
جز درخت یادت
که ریشه در زمین داشت.


When the tornado came,
It took everything with itself,
Except for the tree of your memory,
Which had its roots in the ground.

Form:

In this piece, the form is theme and variations. This piece has a duration of 231 seconds, which is three minutes and fifty-one seconds. I used the abjad system for a Persian word from the poem " گردباد," which means tornado, for this duration. An abjad is a system of notation in which each letter of the Arabic alphabet is assigned a numerical value.

Abtin Golfam
 (b. 2003), AKA ‘T-Noll’ is an independent composer from Iran. He started playing music when he was a teenager, playing 'violin'. He started composing since he was attending the Music Conservatory in Karaj-school. He is influenced by a variety of different music, including hip-hop and more Contemporary art-movements all beyond his interest in Modern music, schools like Futurism. He has already published three independent music albums. 
He pursued his passion into music by attending the art-school for fine-arts before attending the Music conservatory in the city of Karaj. He received music instructions from credible musicians, including Afshin Alvavi, Siavash Esmaili, Hesam Jafari, Farhad Ebrahimkhani, Alireza Akbarpour. He has received a few awards for his performance with the ‘Sehtar’ instrument at least for two consecutive competitions while studying at the art-school. He eventually started studying ‘Audio Technology', at Azad University Central Tehran branch, where he is currently receiving education under the supervision of Reza Sabooni. 
He employs creative coding, programming environments and generally the sound technology for making sounds,  using Pure Data (A visual and interactive computer music development programming language).

Stefan Tiefengraber (AT) lives and works in Linz, Austria. His work ranges from kinetic sound installations and interactive installations to audio-video noise performances. Tiefengraber experiments with the modification of devices, which are originally manufactured for different purposes. Combined with the perception of the audience, this experimental exploration of old and new materials leads him to new and unpredictable results.

Following the no-input approach, Stefan Tiefengraber is generating sound and video using only the inherent noise from two devices, a digital video mixer and a digital audio mixer. New and unexpected results are achieved by - a continuous blast of pure noise and flickering images.

Sepersa (1994)
Is Tehran-based musician and sound designer. His first encounter with music dates back to his teenage days and as it started with experiences on guitars, but his affection to the technology and digital media guided him into using laptops and synthesizers in his works. He is also interested in practice in the art-scene, an interest that has resulted into a short-film and graphic design for some subjects, along with the sound design for a number of stage performances so far.

آهنگساز و طراح صدای اهل تهران است. اولین برخورد او با موسیقی در نوجوانی با ساز گیتار شروع شد و علاقه او به فناوری و دنیای دیجیتال او را به سمت استفاده از لپ تاپ و سینتی سایزرها در کار خود پیش برد. او همچنین به تجربه در عرصه هنر علاقه دارد، اشتیاقی که تا به حال حاضر باعث تولید یک فیلم کوتاه و طراحی گرافیک برای چند عنوان، به همراه طراحی صدا برای چند نمایش تئاتر شده است.

Mehdi Behbudi is a sound-artist and performer from Tehran. He started working on computer music in 1999, and he directed a large portion of his focus on live performances for indoors and open-spaces. He studied composition in the conservatory of music in Tehran, while he studied mathematics, physics and electronics on his own. He has worked on the performance of composers like Alvin Lucier, James Tony, John Cage, Nader Mashayekhi, Peter Ablinger and George Nosbamer in addition to a number of performances and installations that he has produced. He has been working as a performer and sound-artist in more than hundred of audio and visual projects in different cities of Iran, Germany, Austria, Italy, Greek and United States.
He founded “Radical Tehran '' in 2012, and has been working as a mentor for the Sonic Explorers project which is a project in the Beethoven Foundation in Bon, Germany since then.
In his works, he works with the sound not as only an audible phenomenon, with certain physical characteristics, he uses them as the artistic-material in the terms of socio-ethical aspects.

مهدی بهبودی هنرمند صدا و اجراگر ساکن تهران است. او از سال ۱۹۹۹ کار روی موسیقی کامپیوتری را آغاز کرد و از سال ۲۰۰۷ بیشتر تمرکزش را روی اجراهای زنده در فضاهای مختلف باز و بسته گذاشت. در کنسرواتوار تهران در رشته‌ی آهنگسازی تحصیل کرد و به صورت خودآموخته ریاضی، فیزیک و الکترونیک آموخت. او علاوه بر ساخت پرفورمنس‌ها و اینستالیشن‌ها بر اجرای آثار آهنگسازانی چون الوین لوسیه، جیمز تنی، جان کیج، نادر مشایخی، پتر آبلینگر و گئورگ نوسباومر کار کرده است. در ده سال گذشته او در بیش از صد پروژه‌ و اجرای شنیداری در شهرهای مختلف ایران، آلمان، اتریش، ایتالیا، یونان و آمریکا به عنوان آهنگساز، هنرمند صدا و اجراگر حضور داشته است.
در سال ۲۰۱۲ مجموعه رویدادهای رادیکال تهران را پایه‌گذاری کرد. از سال ۲۰۱۹ به عنوان منتور برای پروژه‌ی جستجوگران شنیداری (sonic explorers) مربوط به بنیاد بتهوون در شهر بن آلمان کار می‌کند.
در کارهای‌اش به صدا نه تنها به عنوان یک پدیده‌ی شنیداری با جنبه‌های گوناگون فیزیکی می‌پردازد بلکه از جنبه‌های اجتماعی و اخلاقی صدا نیز به عنوان متریال هنری استفاده می‌کند.
