Zhoobin Askarieh and Ali Sasha02 consider their sole reason for the production of their two recent albums as a way of getting rid of the negative vibes that were all due to the series of catastrophic incidents that happened during the last year's time-span. They refer to the natural or artificial catastrophes that ignited the feelings of fear, anger, stress, happiness, and sadness and how they find the music as a way of escaping these feelings. The consequences of those incidents have led to certain changes in the mind and subconscious of people across the globe, and they can be traced in the works of a considerable number of artists. After becoming free from those feelings to some extent, they started to publish their works. Dotted is the result of such reactions to the event in their society. .

It is essential to note that their own album on another label, entitled “2020 Project” is also scheduled to be released on @Soundmorphrecords More information will be accessible from the Instagram page of that label. .

Ali Sasha and Zhoobin Askarieh - Dotted

Alireza Amirhajebi is a multi-disciplinary artist from Tehran. He have studied in IRCAM  (Institut de Recherche et Coordination Acoustique/Musique, or Institute for Research and Coordination in Acoustics/Music in English) and he is a frequent collaborator of projects between the municipality of Paris and the aforementioned institute for urban noise abatement and environmental design, his education also include precious lessons from Andrew Finberg, the professor of Philosophy of the technology in Canada and France and the French National Centre for Scientific Research (FNCSR)

Many of the young artists try to produce noise using new software instruments. This is only a small part of the whole story. But we can also harvest those noises by paying close attention to them in the both natural and artificial environments in the society, and to employ and make use of them in an aural format. The noise itself does not include aesthetic qualities but they are one of the materials for constructing a piece. It needs a bit of attention to realise and discover the noises in the environment around us, which is way more valuable than to produce noise in personal studios; our world is full of noises only if we search for them.
 
In another stance, we can consider the classification of artificial noises in the category of neuroscience as a troublesome and severe phenomenon, therefore, it is way more suitable to pay attention to the discovery of natural, environmental noises, and to study and discover their specification in the terms of acoustics, and to arrange them together in a more tangible composition.

بسیاری از هنرمندان جوان با نرم افزارهای جدید به سراغ ساخت نویز می روند در حالی که این بخشی از تمام ماجرا است. اما می‌توان با دقت کردن در محیط، نویزهای طبیعی و مصنوعی ساخته شده در جامعه را شکار ساخته، مورد استفاده قرار داره و از آنها در قالبی شنیداری بهره گرفت. ماهیت نویز به خودی خود واجد صفات زیبا شناختی نیست، بلکه تنها از جمله مصالح ساخت یک قطعه است. اینکه بتوان نویزهای محیط را تشخیص داده و آنها را کشف کنیم بسیار ارزشمندتر از تولید مصنوعی نویز در لابراتوارهای شخصی است. جهان ما آکنده از نویزها است ولی برای درک آنها به اندکی دقت نیاز است. 
 
در وجهی دیگر نویز ساختگی را می توان در طبقه بندی نوروآکوستیک به عنوان پدیده‌ای بحران‌زا و حاد نیز تعریف  کرد. پس بهتر است تا  بیشتر به سمت جستجوی نویز های محیطی/طبیعی سوق پیدا کنیم و اینکه به کشف و مطالعه ویژگی ها آکوستیک آنها بپردازیم  تا بتوانیم در یک ترکیب بندی قابل فهم آنها را مورد استفاده قرار دهیم.

Katharina Stadler is a Vienna born conceptual artist and writer. She studied Music, Theater and Cultural Communication studies at Humboldt University in Berlin, graduating with a thesis on the interconnection and opposition of voice and silence as worship in Augustine’s writings.
Since 2010 Katharina is based in Tbilisi, Georgia, where she has been running the Informal Master Programs at the Center of Contemporary Art from 2011 to 2013. In 2014 she founded ‘Concept and Theory – Tbilisi’ as a platform for local and international artists, philosophers and theorists interested in and working in the fields of conceptual art and critical theory. In 2019 she is starting her PhD at The University of Art and Design in Linz with a project ‘on sound & ideology’, supervised by Prof. Dr. Robert Pfaller. She is a Research Associate for the year 2020 at the Center for Contemporary Art Derry~Londonderry.

Channel 34 derived from a 6-channel sound installation with the title 'in the threshold' – created in the fall of 2017 in Tirana, Albania. It circles around the same questions, though in a different format:
there are thresholds everywhere. intriguing. frightening. enraging.
There are thresholds everywhere. with different meanings and preconditions and impacts for us all. evoking emotions, restrictions and influencing our every step.
There are thresholds we dare not cross. and thresholds blocked. rarely we encounter those unfenced, to step over at ease.
And then there are those spaces, which become a threshold after having stepped into. which leave us with a sense of awkward belonging and precarious existence. one of those spaces is public space.
