Ok, well its been awhile but I was bored this evening and started up things again. This uses the "Post Post IDM" distortion filter I developed to, well... fuck shit up.

My submission for the Monome Community Remix Project #10. In this version of the project samples were pulled from previous versions of the MCRP, in a event so meta the internet might not be able to handle it. See http://mcrpmusic.bandcamp.com for the whole album.
I used only two samples, but a hell of a lot of processing in Ableton and reaktor. I laid out the tracks and effects live in multiple passes using my monome 128 and BCR2000. This is also the first time I've used a frequency shifter in anything... like most things, when used subtly it can be good! 
After some mild tweaking, this is the result. Enjoy... or not. Up to you...

Uhh... yeah. Apparently I was screwing around one day a few years ago and made this track. May as well share. Best listened on a system with low bass capability...

Baby One More Organ

I've been working on creating a new "instrument" that is semi-generative (in the sense that it doesn't behave totally randomly, but creates a series of notes bases on some input given, but that note creation has some chaos to it...). I would like it to, eventually, be able to generate some complex note combinations. As you may hear it can do it decently already, however I think the looping is generally too short right now... I'd like to have some patterns evolve over say 4, 8, or 16 bars. Currently I'm limited to 1. 

Anyway, the goal is to have it synth independent, so different synths can be used with the same instrument. In this example I've used a chip-ey square wave synth. This example was cut from about 12 minutes of screwing around.

I think I might make a short album out of it (when I get it sounding like I want) by recording everything to tape and picking out some decent stuff from it.

Another track for a short EP of experimental musings. I like the bell-ish nature of this instrument and the slight off-tone it can create.

The Fold

Third induction into this experimental EP I'm working on. This one is made entirely from the same reaktor instrument with different settings, believe it or not. There are some harsh low-end clipping bits at the start, I removed them with a subsequent recording, but I really didn't like it as much, so I kept with this first recording. 

Anyway, I really like the last 1/2 of this track with the weird screechy stuff.  Nuff said.

My submission for disquiet-0009: Cross Species Collaboration

I used two samples, one of the provided guitar samples and the provided nightingale sample. I realllllly liked the guitar sample backwards and decided I couldn't cut it up. But after some heavy processing with delays, freq shift, and saturation I think I've made it my own. I used the bird chirps to try to cover up the reversed finger slides on the guitar.  Anyway... I really like it, so perhaps you will too.

Its not quite spring yet [disquiet0009-avian]

For the 10th installation of the Disquiet Junto project, the assignment was to remix a previous junto track by any other artist. I chose to do rocks (disquiet0001-ice) by http://soundcloud.com/random-coil, as it had some very interesting sounds and dynamics (as is her style) that I thought I could work with. I've been working a lot recently on delay/resonator/reverb effect that I call the "ambiator" recently so I thought I'd give it another workout here.

I've really been liking this Disquiet Junto project, as it's given me a reason and motivation to make some music again, and a good set of parameters to work within.

Samples used, in order of appearance and what they are:
1) Dialog from Pi (via Monty) - Deep bassy creepy sounds at start and throughout. Heavily processed...
2) Dialog from The Prisoner (via nco-V) - this should be obvious.
3) Music from Assault on Precinct 13 (via Stax) - drum lines
4) Music from Billitis (via Aero Sono) - Used 2 small loops to create "lead" sound.
5) Audio from Genghis Blues (via Lokey) - background glichey texture sounds
5/4 (for the most part...), 100 bpm
