Up and coming Mexican artist Ademarr joins Roam Recordings with two originals to form the Cannibal EP. The title track combines guitars, echoes of voices, and dark stylish electronic rhythms into a driving dance floor mover. To The West is an aptly named tune that weaves live bass, guitar twangs, and harmonica into a futuristic Western soundscape. Up first on remix duty is Zombies in Miami that take Cannibal deeper into hypnotic territory with the expert dance floor touch of their live shows. Javi Redondo takes To The West into more chilled out territory with arped out synthesizers and congas perfect for an epic daytime jam session.

Taking a significant turn from her previous release, the new EP - Z i g Z o y d - greets you as a fierce and friendly audio beast. It’s an adventurous twist of IDM and groovy tribalism, which results in purely synthetic music suitable for more sophisticated dancefloors as well as pleasurable home listening.

“Nahum” is a banging opener, an intense yet extremely curious piece. Heavy kicks surrounded by percussive triplets allow you to braindance and massage your body with low frequencies. “Adroit Am I” is kind of a joyful ballad of those synthetic screeching voices, whose nature is still to be discovered by future generations of sonic explorers. “Trapezoid Conundrum” - the first single of the EP is a repetitive piece, like a trapezoidal machinery working its existence. “Bestia” is the most 4-to-the-floor oriented track. Filled with breathing synths and strong kicks, it (again) welcomes you to a peak time weirdo dancefloor. “Espionage” is probably the darkest piece of this 5-tracker. Screeching synths and a slow rhythm bid you farewell out of this sonic journey, leaving some kind of a hook inside.

That said, Z i g Z o y d is an exciting piece of contemporary electronic music.
