Here comes the first installment from Principles Of Geometry's upcoming album Meanstream. The song that probably best summarises what Meanstream is about. Lush synths that sets your mind on a Michael Mann movie set, amazing beats somewhere between hip hop, electronica and Peter Gabriel, and the voice of the Alessi Brothers, the legendary twins from the 70s/80s, author of classics such as Oh Lory or Seabird (check Metronomy Late Nite Tales compilation).
Remixes come courtesy of Tanner Ross, one of our favorite member of the Wolf+Lamb & Soul Clap crews + Night Slugs head honcho (and ghetto house producer as Dance System) L-Vis 1990.

Slumber Session: Lusine

Despite his artist name and his trademark sound, Steve Murphy does not come
from Chicago, but from Mira, a little town on the suburban area of Venice.
Steve has been djing since 2001, and in the past years has been rocking almost every club in his region. He is serious and professional behind the decks: playing only with vinyl, he blends electro and house, techno and new wave, acid madness and pop appeal.
Steve has produced together with Die Roh an album ("The Chasm") and one e.p ("Windy City") on Chiwax, and a solo 10" ("Planet Earth") on Rawax; these records have been fquickly gone out of stock and that have been acclaimed by the lovers of the classic Warehouse sounds.
In 2012 he has started the Riviera project and has founded the Muscle Records
label, together with Lucretio, Dj Octopus, Caio, Madì Grein and Chevel.
The label is a facility to spread what has been called "the sound of Brenta": a raw, nasty, machines powered clash of house and techno.
In 2012 he also released "The Dove Ultimatum" on Vae Victis Records, under the moniker of Durant: an unfriendly 12" of distorted electro and funky acid beats produced with Die Roh and Lucretio.
2014 is the year of Steve Murphy with the debut on London labels Lobster Theremin with a deep, dark, raw release and on Wilson Records in a split ep with the legend Gene Hunt!

Beats of All-Nations: Seasons Change is a 13-track feature compilation of beats and compositions. Beats of All-Nations, founded by Mike Styles in 2009, did not set out to be a label, nor have we conformed to that title. We are a community of artists, producers, deejays music and culture enthusiasts. Our operation is small, though we are represented by many with a goal to continuously raise the bar while keeping the art diverse and the vibes just right. We feature artists you may already love, but especially those you may have never heard before. Along the way, we have given independent artists a voice and an open space to create while introducing them to new audiences. Beats of All-Nations’ very own Porchlite gets busy on the smoothed out “Where are the Roses.” French producer 7even Sun, of our second release Escapologies and our veteran engineer Choco also supply some enlightening rhythms to the project. Other contributors include wave Groove and DJ Erok of Void Shift, Radius (Etc. Records) and Repeated Measures (New Los Angeles/Beat Cinema). The comp opens with music by Aux Voyager and closes with a colossal tune by SLEEP TO STATIC, two veteran producers from our community.

Steve Murphy - ECHAP 2015

With the emergence of the Rawax stable of artists and subsequent sublabels emerged in August 2011, there had been a real momentum on the whole towards a more pure, analogue, vinyl-only aesthetic, and helmed by DBH distribution the releases came thick and fast.

One such artist, on the Chicago-referencing Chiwax, was Steve Murphy & Co - actually a collective of artists around the core of Steve Murphy, including Die Roh - and the raw, thumping Windy City EP he conjured for the sublabel's first release is simply stunning. Drawing on grit and distortion from old hardware and vinyl samples, the tracks physical effervesce with a real warmth and honesty that seems to have been missing from house music for nearly an age.
