Premiere: Two of New Zealand’s biggest drum & bass ambassadors The Upbeats and Shapeshifter collide next month with their SSXUB EP.

Bloodstream is the first track to be aired from this five-track bass explosion which the men behind it describe as “a little bit of everything from both camps”.

Roadtested by both acts throughout the summer at every festival they can shake a dubplate at, they’ve told us it’s caused “some of the most amazing front row screw faces”. Check it out and you’ll understand why.

Hand-Eye Mythos is a 17-track plunge into the unknown; an electronic concept album shaped by the abstract logic of dreams and the visual language of modern myth. With its roots in glitch, ambient, and deep electronic production, the album spirals through reality-warping soundscapes that reflect inner chaos, lucid awakenings, and beautiful distortion.

This body of work explores fractured perception, altered states, and the collapse of linear thought. It’s an immersive soundtrack for dissociation, visionary journeys, and meditative confrontation.

Each track acts as a sonic sigil, invoking dissonance and clarity, disintegration and rebirth. Hand Eye Mythos is not meant to comfort; it is meant to provoke, dissolve, and transform.
