A good hour of eclectic darkness, ranging from gothic themes (and sounds) over more subtle techno beats and novelty tracks making use of acoustic instruments, vocals or even guitars, this is surely not for the purists, but definitely rewarding listening for the open-minded and those who seek delirium!

Those who are into crossbreed with a technoid touch will not see much need to be introduced to Norbert Szakacs aka Mystification from Hungary. For Noisj.nl LTD he has produced an album almost completely devoid of broken beats, but with a strong storyline bracketing the exploration of various styles: The album starts with the couplet “Delirium” and “Melancholy House”, using a recitation of the Edgar Allan Poe gothic classic “House Of Usher” and a combination of beats and melody that will set Industrial dance floors on fire – as well as the two versions of the vocal track “Halálra Hagyva”. “The Oddments of Delirium” somehow sticks with the gothic theme, yet refuses to remain within the confines of one style, using harsh guitar samples (“Amputated Spirit”) as well as the dubstep wobble (“You will Atone”), emotional contemplation (“Nothing Else Could Ever Love Me”) as well as sheer aggression (“The Wisdom Of Uncertainty”). Repeated exposure is recommended to acquire the taste for this off-the-wall delicacy.

NOISJLTD-43 Mystification - Halálra Hagyva (Hungarian Version)

Noisj.nl regular Razor Edge joins the reboot: The notorious hardcore oddball from Toronto contributes two tracks that are hard to be pigeonholed, dominated by that heart-warming, abrasive and distorted bass sound. In “Coremando” it’s already halfway into the track before a kick like a wrecking ball sets in and promises to destroy everything in its way, while “Underneath that Facade” unashamedly dissects gabber sounds, tongue-in-cheek retro.

Noisj regular Razor Edge, hardcore heretic from Canada, graces the FCKD division with three tracks as puzzling as ever: „Tetrahedron Quantum Computing“ keeps accelerating over almost 10 minutes, with more breaks and changes of tempo than you could possibly imagine; „Innerverse“ appears in a rumbling industrial (i.e. rhythm noise) version, and in a remake which has it propelled into terror style. Everything unpolished and raw like skin after it has been subjected to the Razor Edge!

To celebrate the 15th anniversary of the Cardella brothers working their ways as producers... two befriended acts have made a point of remixing Sound Abuse classics. Carnage & Cluster breathe the power of a steamroller into the 2011 track „Fire Still Burning“, leaving a massive stampede of fuzzy bass; and Sacerdos Vigilia turns the 2014 favourite (and still often heard) „Tree Huggers“ into a distorted darkcore earworm. Happy anniversary!
