Created in four days and two continents for the Minimal Audio song contest. 
I created the groove on day 1 and sent it out to both vocalists. Things were done extremely quickly with Paro recording in Paris and Brodie recording into an iphone while taking care of her toddler (who is in the back of some tracks).  Working at this speed was challenging but also extremely freeing because there wasn't time to second guess yourself :)

I used TONS of Minimal Audio plugins namely Current, Rift and Cluster Delay. Honestly, I rarely have a session that doesn't use RIft these days.

The lofi nature of the drum samples pushed me to try a more R&B/lofi route than I'm used to. This became the backbone for the verses. Once I added the Wonderkind Piano in the chorus, I realized that this track needed Brodie's vocals to help push the vibe in more of a neo soul direction. I resampled her vocals and pitched them as if they were old soul samples, and the track really found its identity!

I've been using Analog Lab for a few years and especially love the warbly, warm, analog sounding synths as I don't have any hardware synths but love sounds with tons of character. The other samples were from Splice, Pigments and Slammer.

What originally started as a small collab for the Splice June Server Challenge slowly became one of the coolest songs I've produced.

It started as a 4 bar loop which was then passed to Fuchsia who turned it into an actual song and added lyrics. I added the chorus chords and drums and shared it with Brodie who laid down some amazing vocals in only her first few takes. Finally, since it is a string challenge and all, we passed it to our friend James Jaffe who slayed it on cello adding an intensity you just can't find in plugins haha.

Falling into the Sun (Splice Version)

This track started as a 2 week challenge to create something centered around the emotion of "Rage". I found that rage is a hard emotion to channel as it's very urgent and immediate and that I may be better at aggression rather than pure Rage. I started the track trying to mirror some of the Mick Grodon Doom soundtrack audioscapes but it ended up "cooler" than I originally intended. I feel like this has some major wearing sunglasses inside with trench coats and slomo lasers energy.
