"Low Down (Son of a Gun)" is by WooHoo, a.k.a. Charles Hendricks, one of those friends we've known forever and always loved, but can't quite recall how we met. All we're certain of is the Brooklyn-by-way-of-D.C. producer consistently cranks out some of the most kick-ass, funky, sleazy cuts you'll ever get in your ear. He's released tracks via Nurvous and OTP Party Breaks, an offshoot of On the Prowl, which is run by Marcos Cabral and our very own Jacques Renault.

Deep&Disco is back with a remix package by singer Adeline Michèle, the Parisian-born front lady of the band Escort,with remixes by Kraak & Smaak, DJ Vas, JKriv and Dino Soccio. 

Co-written and produced by JKriv, the original is a modern take on 80's mid-tempo R&B, think Chaka Khan meets Holy Ghost! Blending a deep bass line with shimmering synth textures, the infectious hook really shines a light on Adeline's formidable vocals. Kraak & Smaak rework the tune into a chilled-out new boogie affair, while DJ Vas and JKriv take things into deeper and darker territory with their mixes. Dino Soccio rounds out the package with sultry and warm west coast flavor.

Adeline Michèle has been leading disco band Escort since the release of their first eponymous album in 2011. With a new Escort record slated for an end of October release, and other lead up singles gaining serious attention in Rolling Stone, Pitchfork, and the NY Times magazine, Adeline is set to make some serious waves in 2015 and beyond.

“Redo:Remixed” will be available exclusively on Beatport on October 12th, on iTunes, Spotify and everywhere else by early November.

Los Angeles-based disco maven LUXXURY’s follows up on KCRW "Morning Becomes Eclectic" favorite "What Are We Gonna Do?" with another quasi-instrumental “Make it Right." Like Khruangbin meets Tory Y Moi and Washed Out with a falsetto nod to The Bee Gees, the song is all dusty beats, dreamy synths and a minimal just out of reach falsetto vocal. Inspired by a breakup (a bad one, like...really bad) the song is a hopeful refrain of redemption, in anticipation of new beginnings.
