The track “Smokin’ Love” opens with swirling piano chords, catchy lyrics highlighting the band’s signature dub sound. The track details multi-instrumentalist, producer and singer Scott Woodruff’s upbeat narrative of wanting to smoke with the one he loves, highlighted in the lyrics:

“I wanna get high, I wanna get low, come on I wanna smoke little spliff with you / Lord knows I’m not a fool, I’m just crazy for you.”

“Smokin’ Love” was recorded the same way as all their songs; in Woodruff’s home studio with each instrument individually recorded and layered in unison to one other. The band has previewed the track through their social media sites and have recently started playing it live.

Pretties for You are a Swedish Indie Rock band and their music has been described as a mix between New Wave and Indie Rock. 

The band was formed in January 2011 and shortly thereafter they released their debut single, Woods, and received critical acclaim for their melodic and immediately accessible sound.

Signed to classic Swedish indie label A West Side Fabrication Pretties for You made a real impact on the Swedish indie scene in 2012 with their EP Silver Lining and singles rotation on national radio and gigs all over Sweden.

They have left their record label and are now working with their next album together with music producer Henryk Lipp, known for working with bands such as Millencolin, D-A-D and Union Carbide Productions.

Ryan Boos is a multidisciplinary artist working across writing, visual art, and music. His creative practice weaves together sound, image, and language to explore themes of spirituality, perception, and transformation.

In 2012, he founded Hazy Acres, originally conceived as a platform for underground artists. Over time, it evolved into an experimental writing space for his own poetry and prose—serving as a hub for creative expression and expansion.

Musically, Boos is best known for his project Nomadic Firs, under which he has released several full-length albums and has been remixed by a divers group of Artists, most notably the grammy award winning, ODESZA. His sonic palette blends lo-fi textures, ambient pop, and electronic experimentation. With his singing coming largely from an improvisational discipline.

He has also composed music for film and produces under the side project Open Channel, releasing two EPs and a series of singles that push his sound into more atmospheric and instrumental territories.

As a visual artist, Boos works at the intersection of painting, photography, collage, and text. He digitally manipulates his work along with found materials, creating layered, immersive images that reflect a creative and open approach to design. In 2025 he expanded his visual arts by launching the Etsy shop, Healers Canvas.

Boos began his journey in the arts as a promoter and DJ in Kalamazoo, MI, where he organized The Reggae Sound System and co-founded various independent production collectives. Focused on house, techno, and dub, these events served as a catalyst for his ongoing collaborations with artists and musicians in the underground scene.
