Episode 66 of the CommaCast Series re-welcomes the mischievous sounds of Glen S to the Comma family, whom previously released with us on our ToneShift output with the remarkable dancefloor hit 'Playtime'.

Providing us with over an hour of his own unreleased productions we have a mix that acts as a stable representation of why Aus producer and DJ, Glen S is a name that is heavily circulating around the underground renaissance of progressive house and trance. The young sound crafter has been generating a lot of heat in recent years with an impressive array of high quality label releases with respected brands such as eclectic., Haws, Parry Talks, Dialectic, Lovejoy and his own output Planet Euphoria. We were delighted when the artist shared this mix of all his own material with us, and very excited to share it all with you.

Glen S is the Australia-born, Berlin-based artist behind some of the most brain-bubbling progressive and trance-inspired music this side of Y2K. His creations across the audible spectrum act as a modern lens through which the seminal Goa and chug influences of Australian electronica's rich history continue to thrive.

An entity fueled by their unwavering positive outlook, life has had no direct path for Glen. A decade designing and producing his own furniture as TLD Woodworking birthed physical representations of the creativity we still find today in his music. Colorful, gooey, and chonky - from the Bushland to Berlin, it's always been there.

Flow State is honored to present a chapter from Glen S as the third installment of our mixtape series. Allow the deep groove frequencies of the bush doof to cleanse your soul as you settle into a gentle euphoria.

We don't know a great deal about Volruptus to be honest.  We believe it to be one man, who is from Reykjavik, although his Facebook page suggests he might reside in Berlin.  For a bit more info into who exactly is behind the Volruptus moniker though, that's where his Facebook page stops being useful, stating simply "He brought the BASS from outer SPACE! 2 YER FACE!!! The Unruly and groovy. The sneaky and freaky. The Alien Boogie commander known as Volruptus is on a mission to make you move!".  

So let's focus on what we do know then.  We know that Volruptus's musical output has been absolutely impeccable, in just a few releases, he's defined a sound which takes influence from British rave culture, Detroit electro and more experimental sounds of the 90s but which is wholly his own.  Through releases on Sweaty Records, which may or may not be his own label, Nina Kraviz's, TRIP and fellow countryman, Bjarki's, bbbbbbb, Volruptus's music has managed to become cult in just two short years.  His records are collectables in the making, mysterious, intricate and futuristic whilst remaining undeniably dance floor.  It's probably no surprise that we see him work alongside Kraviz and Bjarki who seem to embody a similar mystique in what they do.  For his Dimensions mix Volruptus seriously delivers, with an hour of energetic but detailed pure space funk from a real life alien boogie commander.

A fizzing mix bringing together the old and the new. There's Liquid's 'Feel 3' and Leftfield's 'Fanfare Of Life' from 1992 and Luca Lozano's 'Essential Elements' and Truska's 'Lucid' from this year, mixed into to a bunch of other electrifying records either released in the early '90s or the last two years.
