Kaiuna lives, breathes, and sweats sound. The long time moniker of Riley McPherson, “Kaiuna” represents the electronic half of his lifelong audio explorations. Music is the universal binding factor that brings people together in celebration and dance. It has the power to instill a room with insightful conversation, move feet and even sway emotions.

Raised in British Colubia, Kaiuna became engrossed in music at a young age. As a teenager, he started playing any instrument that he could lay hands on (drums, guitar, baritone/euphonium, recorder, and organ to name a few). It was at this time that he discovered the vast and diverse landscape of electronic music. He feverishly dug into creating his own aural expressions and in 2004 completed his first two albums “The Happy Unity of A and D” &”Erzähle Mir Keine Märchen”.  

By the time he had finished high school, he concluded that he wanted to dedicate his life to sound and music. He enrolled in the Audio Engineering program at the Center for Arts and Technology where he learned a wide variety of skills pertaining to sound design, engineering and composition. After his graduation, he moved to Vancouver where he began working as an audiovisual technician.

Currently Kaiuna is a full-time parent and creator.
