We're proud to welcome the talented Awe Kid on Atomnation with new single 'Eve,' which features standout artwork from João Castro @ The Royal Studio from Portugal. Awe Kid - a Berlin based Brit - is also working on a debut album due later this year, and this first single for the label is a fine showcase of his richly detailed, left of centre but club-ready sound.

Rick Parsons grew up in Manchester, UK, where he played in various post-hardcore groups, but eventually found his way into dance music through the likes of 90s Warp, LA's beat scene and more experimental niches. The multi-instrumentalist brings all this and more to his music, which manages to mix up melodic nostalgia with forward thinking sound design. He runs Sine Language Records in collaboration with a collective of audio and visual artists, and uses everything at his disposal to cook up his unique productions, be that analogue hardware, digital sampling, or homemade software.

The wonderfully leftfield 'Eve' is a freeform fusion of myriad different styles, from post-rave breakbeats to dazzling melodies, ambient sound design to real dance floor intensity. It begins with a melancholic intro of textured field recordings, falling rain and glimmers of melody, before twinkling synth work eventually brings hope next to crisp, driving breaks. Eventually, grand pads break out and elevate you to a higher emotional plane which will make for a huge release on the dance floor.

This is a superb first single for Atomnation from Awe Kid, with plenty more to come.
