This is my mix I played at my 1st ever set hosted by subverse events @ basement45 down in Bristol, absolutely smashed it, gassed with how I played at the event and how much the crowed loved it. But this mix I’m posting was recorded 3 months after I played so it is not a live recording. When playing this live I also had the goat Kaisan T on mic duty’s 🖤

NOORCOTICS • JUNGLE FEVER - 27/04/2022

This was my first ever 140 set and it couldn’t have gone any better. With JohnnieDarko controlling the M I C, also sharing it with the goats Kaisan T & Millsee.

This serious 140 exclusive night was held and provided by the kru over at Subverse Events in Cheltenham @undertheprom. 

(First time I mixed 140 was a few days before this set when I bought all my tunes).

Went more into my minimal side for this special event from the gang over at Subverse Events who for this one paired up with the big dawgs at Flexout Audio :)
Besides the minimal tracks I also throw in hints of my normal jungle flavours and a splash of liquid.
Filled with a bunch of new blends and some of my favourite older blends which never go wrong x

NOORCOTICS:

NOOR: This part of the name is inspired by the Persian/Arabic name "Noor" (which is also my surname shortened) which means "light" or "brightness". It could also be interpreted as "noir" meaning "black" in French, which suggest a contrast or combination of light and dark elements.

COTICS: This suffix doesn't seem to have a direct meaning, but is a play on the word "narcotics”, which refers to drugs. It suggest something potent, addictive, or intoxicating in the context of music.

Combining these parts, NOORCOTICS can be interpreted as a juxtaposition of light and dark or as something bright and captivating with an edge or hint of intensity, similar to the effects of narcotics but in a musical context.
