Keep It Simple

Fresh off of performing with Honey Dijon at the Royal Festival Hall as part of The Radiant Baby Orchestra, I’m back with the first release under my birth name in almost six years.

In that period I’ve been working as a mix engineer and sometimes arranger for Honey Dijon, Luke Solomon, Gideon, Horse Meat Disco, The Shapeshifters, Kiddy Smile and many more mega- dance acts. I’ve also consulted and mixed AV3D with Gideon on Block 9’s IICON stage at Glastonbury Festival for 3 years and counting.

Along side the post-production work, I have been keeping busy on my Brother Nebula project, with 3 singles and an album to show for so far, and more to come in the near future.
I’ve also kept up work as a DJ at some great clubs, festivals and radio shows, including Genosys & NYC Downlow at Block 9, Adonis in London, Panorama Bar, and Wednesdays with Moxie on NTS Radio.

My style of house and techno has always been tipped towards the underground, with raw, deep & driving sounds all key to the mix.

On these two new tracks, I look to my past for inspiration:

Zeus launches lightning blots on the dance-floor with a nod to early Kings Of Tomorrow, Deep
Vision and Zestland records, which are some of my favourite dance tunes ever.

Stop:Start uses resampling and pitch-effects to create a woozy world tied to a heavy analog bass
line. It’s reminiscent of some of my earlier works, but brought into the 21st century.

The collection features remastered originals previously released by the artist on the label, alongside a brand new single in collaboration with Secret Jams Records founder Daniel De Roma. The musical journey is further enriched by the special participation of renowned artists Dj Honesty, Erratic, Bernado Mota, Pedro Capelossi, Aeikos, NAI.MA, Savant Fair, Strypee, and HECK, who contribute remixes to the tracks.

'Hi everyone, is Luis!
Time flies by without a doubt, and it never stops. Looking back and seeing that it's been 16 years since I started releasing music makes me think. A lot could have been better, but I guess it's all part of the process.
It was impossible to put all the music from all the labels I've released on and make a best of... That's the reason why an invitation came from  my dear friend and artist Daniel De Roma, to release this compilation of remixes on his label Secret Jams Records to celebrate my 36th birthday and 16 years as a producer.
I would have loved to have everyone who worked with me included here, but again it's impossible. However, this compilation is dedicated to all the friendships that music has given me over the years (all of whom will know who they are when they read this) and that still remain. I don't forget anyone and you are all in my heart, family, friends, labels, promoters, clubs, parties, listeners. This is my way of saying thank you in the purest way possible.

More Than A Luva

Brighton producer Peter O returns to Nordic Trax with an emotional six-track ep of sparkling deep house music. Following the recent loss of his mother the talented producer poured that energy into his craft, and the result is an uplifting and life-affirming collection of modern house music.

This is Peter O’s third release on NT, following along from Waste Not (NT119, 2022) and Colours (NT078, 2014). The Brighton producer empties the tank for this one, taking the listener on a journey with a range of influences: from afro house on Afterlife, to broken beat on The Fall, and classic 90s-inspired deep house with Legend Sound and Happiness.

House music and its forefather disco is drenched in melancholy, and this ep continues the tradition with heavy chords and emotional string arrangements that can move you – while you think AND feel. You’ve got to be down to see the light, put one foot in front of the other and keep it moving forward. Music is indeed the answer, let it be your guide in this Game Of Life.

Peter O’s label debut in 2014 is one of our favourite releases of the last decade. Mixmag called it “classic deep house, perfect for those beach house moments” and the release found widespread dj support from the likes of Maya Jane Coles, Catz ‘N Dogz, Martin Landsky, Waifs + Strays, Mark Farina & Joyce Muniz to name a few. On his second release Peter delivered a delightful ep for fans of DIY, Nuphonic and Paper Recordings, which garnered immediate support from Harri, Fish Go Deep, Nick Holder, Inland Knights, Finest Wear, Monty Luke, Nick V and Sandro Bianchi among others. From the stripped-back vibes of the title track, to the feel good vocal hook of The Last Days, the EP has a nostalgic feel without being overly sentimental. Soulful, forward-thinking dance music with a nod to the past.

A veteran of London’s clubs and pirate radio, Peter now teaches music technology while continuing to produce and deejay. His discography includes work on Tronicsole, Nightbird Music, De La Casa, Disclosure Project Recordings, Nordic Trax and he’s collaborated with the likes of Monophunk, Asadinho, Alex Barck, Kris Wadsworth and J-Felix among others. His early work caught the attention of some notable music tastemakers including M.A.N.D.Y., Charles Webster, Lucidflow and Q Burns.

Frantic Formula is a timeless moment of melodic techno created by Falko Brocksieper originally released on Treibstoff Recordings. A track so pure and perfect that it deserves to be re-mastered and re-presented for the next generation, which is precisely what 20/20 Vision has done.  The story only begins with Frantic Formula as connecting with Falko leads to unearthing a treasure trove of productions including unreleased gems and tracks that had never been pressed on vinyl – one of which Covert Action sits proudly on the flip side. The record is completed with Outrun which sounds as fresh and current today as it did when recorded back in 2006. 

Frantic Formula is a rare piece of electronic music perfection, one of those tracks where you can’t imagine changing a single element as intricate synth sequences support a haunting main hook that stays with you long after the record has run out. It stands right up there alongside classic productions such as Isolee – Allowance or Loco Dice – Seeing Through Shadows. 

Outrun features a sound system shaking bottom-end bass wobble that rattles the bones and moves the feet. Covert Action is a DJ’s dream mix track with heavily grooved filtered toms that would make Chicago proud running consistently around a heavily affected cowbell punctuated by trippy drops for the floor.
