After its outstanding reception following its initial release back in January, Wankelmut & Emma Louise's infectious single - 'My Head Is A Jungle' returns with a souped up package and is set to be released worldwide on 15TH September via Positiva. Heavily supported by BBC R1's Pete Tong, 'My Head Is A Jungle' was dubbed his 'Essential New Tune' back in February as well as receiving championing support from BBC R1's tastemaker Annie Mac. It comes as no surprise that the single is already platinum in Italy, top 30 in Germany (and rising) and top 5 airplay in South Africa!

Wankelmut who has mainly been deejaying in underground clubs in Berlin such as Sisyphos and MIKZ, became 'Newcomer of the Year' last year (GROOVE Magazine) and has been in high demand as both DJ and Remixer ever since. Wankelmut has a very entertaining and well crafted way of deejaying with a huge variety of styles from Deep House to Techno. Beside playing all over Europe he remixed Gossip, Jay Haze, Lukas Graham and various other underground records which established his status within the Techno House Scene. On his 24th birthday in December 2011 Wankelmut aka Jacob Dilßner uploaded his unofficial remix for Asaf Avidan's "Reckoning Song' to Soundcloud. More than one year later the now official remix has sold 1.3 Million copies on Sony/Columbia, scored over 100 Million Youtube Plays and entered the #1 spot in 8 european countries, as well as being the best-selling track on Beatport last year.

In cooperation with the talented Australian singer Emma-Louise, the duo deliver a finely tuned piece of melodic brilliance. Wankemut's faultless Tech-house production, and Emma-Louise's blissful vocals will have you instantly hooked and will be circling around your head for days to come. In addition to the supreme remix package from Gui Boratto, Kasper Bjorke and Solee, new remixes come from Friend Within, and Marc 'MK' Kinchen, who steps up to deliver one of his much loved MK edits which premiered last Friday on Pete Tong.

For their next release, Hot Creations call upon talented Italian duo Paul C & Paolo Martini, whose combined career spans over forty years in the business. True to their personal style and doing what they do best they deliver three tracks bursting with groove and energy, aimed solidly at the dance floor. Title track ‘Get This!’ bounces along a prominent bassline, progressing with trippy vocals that swirl into an epic build up, erupting for maximum destruction on the dancefloor. Over on the B-side ‘Bull Revenge’ swings with a standout groove, while last track ‘Flying Lizard’ rolls along effortlessly with the vocals once again providing a special element.

Paul C has honed his production skills since the mid '90's and his energetic brand of tech­house has seen him release on a host influential labels. Since 2009 the pair have worked tirelessly in the studio and not only seen their music supported by many of the industry's biggest names, but also seen their work feature on labels including Cecille Numbers,Terminal M, Materialism, Area Remote, AMA Recordings and of course Paul's Boutique.

After successful outings on Mental Groove, Viking Music, Drumpoet Community and Wagon Repair, this latest ten-tracker of blissful underground house lands on the ever-expanding Turbo Recordings. The album presents a broad spectrum of ideas, some of it might even be called 'world music', featuring international vibes and vocal contributions from Wamian Kaid, the psychedelic guru Terence McKenna, and Mr. Schönborn himself. These are expertly crafted grooves, subtle and hypnotic tracks that 



sound as great in the club as they do at home, the light mood and warm atmosphere a perfect match for an early Spring release.

This August, Pettah Interchange will return for its third incarnation to give Sri Lankan audiences a taste of German the subcultural practice of using unconventional and neglected public spaces to celebrate music, arts and alternative culture. 

After the abandoned Gaffoor Building of 2012 and the grubby incense marketplace of 2013, this year the Bordermovement crew will turn the neglected but iconic Rio Cinema and Hotel in Slave Island into an audio-visual club experience of international standard. The conceptual experience from Damian Lazarus and his team of dedicated and visionary musicians and artists lies just three short days away. In speaking to Defected recently about what fans can expect, Damian says: “Partying has actually become quite safe; you buy your ticket to an event and can pretty much imagine exactly how it will pan out before you walk through the door. I love the idea of creating something where there is an uncertainty; where there is room for the element of surprise... some kind of danger and mystery. I think Day Zero offers these exciting qualities.” The genesis of this was a spiritual experience that followed a conversation with a Shaman on the beach in Tulum where Lazarus raised his hands to the moon and felt the presence of an “electric force field.”

Considering this, it’s hard not to feel the hairs on the back of your neck start to tingle as you imagine what is to come. The feeling that accompanies dancing with your favorite friends and strangers to the underground’s best artists amongst ancient pyramids constructed by a race of people who felt their calendar didn’t need the ability to forecast past the day in which the event will take place surely won’t be something we’ll ever forget.

In advance of this fantastic, magical adventure, which at one point felt too far in the future to feel real, Thugfucker and Shaun Reeves have graciously teamed up to put together their Timewave(day)zero podcast which seems an appropriately deep and introspective aural journey of introspective reflection. It’s more chill than pumping but is 100% something that will positively inform your soul’s position along the spiritual horizon. So whether or not you’ll be making the pilgrimage to Day Zero this millennium, get this in you now.
