'Allunaggio' is the Italian word for moon landing, a very appropriate title for a song that will move you to the moon and back with its subtle chords, hauntingly slow arpeggiator and warm bassline.

Bengoa is a Greek DJ, musician, producer and songwriter based in Athens and Mykonos, Greece.

With influences rooted in ambient, techno, house, hip hop and trip hop, he’s built a unique but flexible style for himself over the years.

Let’s Try Again puts those iconic 808 drums upfront and adds in some floating chord stabs to create a timeless take on deep house.

With the En Route EP on Sublease, Bengoa treats us to scenes from the summer in Mykonos - where each of these tracks were recorded. With an original 808 on hand, the beats are tinged with some retro vibes and baked in the Aegean sunshine.

Lastly, Bodytalk features Brothers’ Vibe with a co-production credit. Tony Rodriguez aka Brothers’ Vibe - a legend of US house music - adds a distinct 80’s / 90’s take on Bengoa’s vibe, resulting in an absolute secret weapon in the right hands.

The Dompe remix is deeper still, yet brings in a touch of jacking drums, creating the after dark counterpoint to the original.

An Argentinian who’s musical forte has been bred in Berlin, Alejandro Mosso has been at the cutting edge of electronic music for more than 15 years. Alejandro’s ability to traverse genre lines makes him a pillar of XYZ’s artistic vision. With releases on industry titans such as Cocoon, Third Ear, and Hivern Discs propelling his career, Mosso has recently found footing in the deep and melodic scene. His Amatista EP on Behrouz’s Do No Sit label is flush with quality, and his remixes for Esteble and Robbie Akbal further display the impressive recent output for Mosso.

As we step into Autumn, we are thrilled to welcome the return of Mosso to the XYZ imprint in the form of his Promenader EP. With January’s Sirocco project as a building block, the latest collection from Alejandro fosters his irresistible percussion work and groove-forward arrangements; immensely intelligent, easy-riding, and cohesive music coming your way.

The B-side takes things in a psychedelic direction, with tripped out vocals toying with the brain from the start. Exclusive: Pale Blue - Silver Tears

Bringing their messages in an honest manner through, it's New York-duo Pale Blue delivering their contribution to the strange year of 2020. Written during the first quarter of the quarantine Liz Wight and Mike Simonetti teamed up under their nostalgic melodic alias Pale Blue and wrote a song about what moved and inspired them to write Silver Tears, a track from the golden 20s of the century. 

“Every day I thought about death, death caused by the virus, death caused by white supremacy, racism, violence, death by transphobia, homophobia, inequality, and all of it put me in a dark place, where I was desperate for some sort of hope. Mike's dad had just passed away during all of this and it’s devastating to think about all the people losing loved ones who aren’t able to be there during those final moments due to Covid-19. When I was writing this, I was trying to make sense of it all, but I still can’t. I used to take solace in the love I had for my city but all of a sudden, I didn’t feel safe because of people’s disregard for spreading this virus. So, to cope I reflected a lot on the people I love and tried to strengthen those connections… it's all I could manage to do to deal with so much hate but honestly at the end of the day that isn't enough.“ - Liz Wight

Along the original track comes a remix from Simonetti's long time friend and collaborator Monty Luke. The both, Monty Luke and Mike Simonetti, released a record together under their Billions and Billions moniker way back in 2012. Calling Monty one of his favorite producers, it does not surprise that the Black Catalogue label head took on remix duties with pleasure. 

Pale Blue's EP Silver Tears will be released on 2MR on December 4th, 2020.
