After earlier appearances on the label, Dimitris Doukas, better known under his “Restive Plaggona” moniker, returns as his industrial oriented alias “Matriarchy Roots” on Strange Therapy. A highly engaging and confrontational project influenced by anti-patriarchy ideas and industrial music. “Changing Habits” will guide us among creepy atmospheres, sharp noises and destructive soundscapes made to question our way of thinking and our society's structures.

Where Is Your Toughness Now (No Forgiveness) finds the listener surrounded by a sense of dread and imminent doom, a collection of shrilling glimpses and brooding ambiances, distant broken memories made sound and sudden disturbances. At the end of the track added piano notes will increase the creepiness, preparing us for what will come next. More More More More (Courting Insanity) dwells in deep power electronics territory, and we will find ourselves in a bleak sea of chaos and madness. Obsessive rhythmic patterns and majestic effects impose a robust march, evoking a mechanical world inside our vicious mind. Just when you think this is it an eerie melody complete the scenario. Breasts In Sight (Demand A Choice) surprises with delicate ambient synth sounds and crystalline atmospheres in a droning course, reaching after a while a stomping movement with martial innuendos and distorted kick drums. The listener finds himself in a complex mix of emotions underlined by melancholic notes and ominous soundscapes, perhaps showing us personal facts from the author's life.  

Lifestyle (After The Rise Comes The Fall) is a rhythmic noise affair with cinematic elements and abrasive atmospheres with suspended parts and heavily manipulated vocals. A nightmarish voyage into anarchic assaults and controlled darkness reaching orchestral greatness. Monogamy Rules (Not Belonging To Anyone) uses suspense as a device showcasing broken sounds and shrilling lines, conjuring an alarming sonic world for us. The tension grows as the highly cinematic crescendo reaches an industrial climax with sci-fi qualities. Inner thoughts and ideas become a compulsive soundtrack to the demise of our preconceptions and in-built credos, leaving us with a sense of uneasiness.  The last track Masculine Norms (The Many Faces Of Manhood) drives the message home by the means of eerie soundscapes and cut-up sounds, giving us a crawling movement with sparse rhythms and soothing hidden melodies. Distant laments evoke a deeply disturbing portrait of struggle and mixed emotions.

Episode three of the series comes from Edinburgh based techno due Tenbit, who have kindly supplied us with a relentless collection of pure techno beasts.

Tenbit are an Edinburgh based techno duo who are all about powerful, driving techno that is full of energy. 

Both were introduced to the Scottish rave culture at a young age which has allowed them to develop with the style and sound that can now be heard. 

Residing in Edinburgh Tenbit have been making a name for themselves with their residency at Powerhouse Edinburgh and also their own night labelled ‘Tenbit present’ at Sneaky Pete’s with a bi monthly night now secured for 2020 which can be guaranteed to provide techno carnage of all sorts. 

Some of the names they’ve played with around scotland include Eutony, Duplicity, Voight-Kampff, Espen Lauritzen and more. Their focus has always been to provide a unique energetic sound within their sets and even their music which can be heard through their most recent releases.

Drawing from Post-Punk, Black Metal and Industrial, the French producer and live artist has returned to his roots, a crossover between the warehouse rave scene of the 90’s and industrial music, mixing Belgian EBM influences with post-modern, modular-engineered Techno. Alongside regularly hitting clubs, warehouses and spaces with his live and hybrid performances, he's maintained a consistent release schedule, featuring across numerous DIY labels, as well as the illustrious Sonic Groove with two EP's and most recently on revered German industrial imprint, HANDS with the new "State Of Play" EP. Soon we see the project returning to Adam X's Sonic Groove with a second, full-length album.

Faux Naif has a particular view on club music. Under her Faux Naïf alias she digs for records often outside of the electronic spectrum, often championing the lesser known sounds of EBM, Tropical Goth, Synth & Post Punk. Her broad tastes in these genres mostly stems from the 80s and typically dark in sound, she takes as much influence from British groups like The Cure, Coil and the Cocteau Twins as she does any electronic producer.
Faux Naif supports these sounds on her radio show on Threads Radio located at the London venue The Cause and also through her own parties M || M (mouthiimouth).

As per super-fast, heavy as hell Buzzi style, the latest self-release, “Throat Massager” cleanses the pallet with a double dose of warped chaos. With its crunchy and tumultuous background, the track takes on a smooth rumbling, a literal vibration of the 5th chakra. A tinge of hi-hats pierces the atmosphere before tight drum rhythms get you back in line, all underneath the carnage of an unforgiving bass. The groove keeps pumping through a dystopian mood where a distorted echoing vocal repeats itself like a warning
 
This may or may not brace one for "Can't Wait To Hear Your Mom Cry", where the sounds become chop suey, sent into warp drive for a complete mental breakdown. Like battling through inner darkness to reach realization, the ruthless pulse becomes a familiar grounding to hold onto as it beats through crackling transmissions, a fragment of Buzzi’s savior mentality to see that everyone makes it out alive.
