MANTRA MEXICANO

La música que acompaña la presente exposición está hecha a partir de la lectura de pequeños fragmentos de la Ley General de Derechos Lingüísticos de los Pueblos Indígenas. Dada la vastedad de lenguas indígenas en nuestro país, para la presente obra se utilizaron solamente nueve agrupaciones lingüísticas y en el siguiente orden: Kickapoo, Chatino, Mixe, Purepecha, Mixteco, Chichimeco, Popoloca, Totonaco y Amuzgo.

El propósito de la obra es mostrar al público el sonido de la lengua tal y como es, tratando de evitar su "deconstrucción" en aras de una mejor inteligibilidad. La única intervención de mi parte fue el crear una réplica de cada fragmento procesada a través de un vocoder. Este dispositivo electrónico filtra un sonido determinado a  través del sonido de la voz (por ejemplo el de una flauta o unas cuerdas). El sonido filtrado a través de la voz responde a los cambios de frecuencia naturales de la voz en caso de tal manera que el resultado es el de una voz "coloreada" por el sonido que está filtrando o que está pasando a través de ella. El resultado, muy sutil, pone en relieve las características propias del cantar de la lengua y brinda, idealmente, una escucha más detallada de las características fonéticas de cada lengua.

Far off in the brush of the West Africa there lives a tribe of people that have stirred up a lot of interest in their mythology. The Dogon, from Mali, have some interesting beliefs, elaborate rituals and myths. They believe that they are descended from ancient Egyptians and their story goes back further than 50,000 years. Their stories contain actual facts about the solar system and ancient history. The Dogon tribe believes that the starting point of creation is a star that revolves around Sirius and is known as the 'Digitaria star'. Their understanding is that this star is small, but heavy, and contains the building elements of creation. So, here are some building elements of their music creation. This is our new compilation and is called THE DOGON ORCHESTRA, full of positive vibes and awesome music. This is our world and you're welcome to it.......
