Hollywood birders Harry and Tom deliver four DJ unfriendly tracks aimed squarely at the parish hall. Sonic forage-ables and contemporary barndance to storm cruck frames across the Tunbridge Wells - Pontypool connection.

‘Drum, Botany & the Brash’ is the product of six months of outings and studio sessions by Forest Casual, a collaborative project by Harry Murdoch and Thomas Morley. These songs assemble nocturnal field recordings, barely metric rhythms, the May Day dawn chorus, wilted bouzouki and wood-pigeon wub. Two heads colliding to create a third, completely distinct from its makers.The resulting four tracks are dub infused soundsystem folk for the funglist massive, just don’t call it Folktronica. Entrenched in the music are many musical tangents explored in Harry’s basement, anecdotes of work and play on the ropes, and memories of jumping fences and squinting at woodpeckers. 

Harry Murdoch makes music as hmurd and has released with TT Label, Gin & Platonic, All Centre and more. He co-runs the label Cherche Encore and is in the band Hard On Yarn Sourdonk Communion. Harry is chronically ill. He mostly makes music with code.
Thomas Morley is a free improviser currently exploring composition by experience and relationship. He is 1/2 of microband ‘mosspit’ and provides side-person duties for artists in need of pads and foley. Hailing from South Wales, Tom finds catharsis by abseiling on heritage buildings and playing 5-string banjo.

The 44th release of katharsis is the debut album “Late Bloomer” by the malmö-based entity Starleaf. A whisper caught between interstellar winds, a tale of a cosmic protagonist - something growing, something distant and near at once. The album manifests the ethereal spirit of Starleaf with deep rhythmic pulses of bass sprouting from the deep, strong melodic forces of trancey synths and hard-hitting space-warping percussion.

Starleaf is an organism thriving on the edge of the comprehensible, drawing from energies that defy the natural laws we claim to know. In its branches, rhythms weave, harmonic growth pulses, and textures bloom from the nexus of the organic and the alien. Its origins are a paradox of seed and starlight, where sound becomes a tendril, twisting through Malmö’s underground and far beyond.

Full Moon LP is a culmination of a year-long creative process by Ukrainian producer, audio engineer, and DJ Hlib, also known as Terawax. Scheduled for release on January 29, 2025, via Kyiv’s electronic label Polygon, the album opens with electro tracks laced with acid TD-3 sequences, gradually blending in classic breakbeat and garage-inspired elements, and concludes with a jungle composition. The release also features 2 remixes from Recid and Dagga.

At the core of Terawax’s Full Moon LP lies self-reflection and a relentless drive to create, influenced by the surreal nocturnal imagery of Kyiv’s sky, as seen from his window. Active air-defense systems and the unchanging presence of the moon became integral to the artist’s production workflow. The release echoes the Terawax’s early passions for classic electro, Detroit sound, sampling culture, and the ethos of retro-futurism, inviting listeners to step into the shoes of Kyiv’s pre-war party-goers and imagine both the music that once was and the possibilities of what it might become.

“As humans, we adapt to almost anything,” says Hlib. “In moments of crisis, you have two options: move forward or let it overwhelm you. For me, music is a space for exploration — a way to connect with myself while offering something meaningful to others, whether it’s inspiration or just a moment of joy.”

The moon serves as the visual and thematic anchor for Full Moon LP, symbolizing a container of the moods and experiences that shaped the album's creation after the year of full-scale invasion. The release’s artwork, designed by tattoo artist Jekie 313, reflects Terawax’s connection to tattoo culture and his “less is more” production philosophy, where groove and rhythm are central.

The release’s promotional visuals include a video montage of personal footage from the Polygon community, celebrating Kyiv’s dancefloors from 2014 to 2019.
