This EP from German duo @not-even-noticed is a music production lover’s dream. Honestly, the sound design and production levels are just beyond belief in my opinion. Needless to say, they have been on heavy rotation since I first received the demos and they aren’t anywhere close to getting old yet.

They somehow straddle the line between beautiful soundscapes and absolute face melting, eyes rolling back, grabbing the person next to yours’s shoulders heat. Does that even make sense? Well I think you get what I mean.

The EP is out next Friday the 21st.

Since emerging from the underground scenes of Frankfurt and Halle/Leipzig in 2020, not even noticed have caught the attention of many through their signature blend of old-school elements with captivating sampling and a unique approach to sonic structures. Releases on household names such as Craigie Knowes, Holding Hands, Faux Poly and Chat Noir Distributions, have showcased the prolific duo’s sonic breadth, varying from progressive house and intricate trance to clinical electro and atmospheric warehouse rave anthems, all connected through a foundation of acid and breakbeats. 

not even noticed’s “nocturnal slide” EP, sees the duo explore a more emotional and ambient-leaning sound which remains deeply rooted in the rave. Lead single “Ethur” perfectly encapsulates the EP’s sonic world through its combination of expertly chopped breaks, delicate synth arpeggios and ethereal vocals with an ominous bassline.

As they landed from an extended hover - Fast At Work found themselves drawn to a new, singular sonic flow. With a future forward vision of higher-deeper tempos, the crew realized that often the most meaningful iterations can be found in the most inconspicuous places - “not even noticed,” some might say. Within these subtle crevices, a rising duo emerged to carry this torch forward, expertly crafting four original offerings. While the title contribution echoes a sermon of oozing bassline flows and siren signals, “Drip Advise” mesmerizes with its spiraling melodies and a deluge of percussion. The B-side hosts the acid-tinged “Creamavity,” as well as “Anxious,” which synthesizes the full pilgrimage into a polished musical definition. To wrap their heli-disc, the mystical duo prescribes a set of two reshapes: Wisdom Teeth’s K-Lone opts for strong foundational grooves and deep airy textures, while Maara crafts an oceanic odyssey – over 10 minutes of timeworn atmospherics and sensorial sensibilities.

In a landscape saturated with maximalist gestures and instant gratification, Not Even Noticed operate in the periphery — a project whose very name speaks to its ethos. The Frankfurt–Leipzig duo have been quietly sculpting a sonic language of restraint and intention since emerging in the early 2020s, threading broken rhythms, trance-infused atmospheres, and acid-washed details into music that rewards patience and deep listening. Their productions don’t clamor for attention; they invite it, revealing hidden layers only to those willing to lean in.

Their latest chapter, the Eteus EP, released this summer on LA’s visionary Fast At Work imprint, is perhaps their most refined statement yet. Drawing on the myth of Eteus — a figure of light and knowledge — the record explores the delicate tension between weight and weightlessness, minimal form and maximal emotion. Across four originals and two masterful remixes from K-Lone and Maara, Not Even Noticed map a territory where low-swung basslines pulse like a heartbeat beneath vaporous melodies, and whispered vocals guide the listener toward ecstatic release. It’s a transmission you feel as much as you hear, a document of artists expanding their craft while remaining faithful to their understated pulse.

To accompany our conversation, the duo have prepared an exclusive mix for Bolting Bits’ MIXED BY series — a glimpse into their current orbit, stitched together with the same care and subtlety that defines their studio work. In the interview that follows, we dive into the mythic inspirations and meticulous processes behind Eteus, the evolution of their collaboration, and the philosophies driving one of electronic music’s most quietly compelling acts.
