Freejak vs Steve Jennings vs Zero B - Get Up And Lock Up Ya Heard?

This is the set we've been playing out in 2017, most recently at Glade stage Glastonbury and Beat-Herder. As ever, it's a backing track I wrote and recorded at Studio 3 Collective in Blackpool with the piano and string lines performed live in one take, just as I do on stage. The tracks are all sourced from my years as a raver in the North West UK between 1988 and 1993, though I have taken a little artistic license in their re-creation. This is a FREE download, please help yourselves, and if you like the tracks, go hunt out the originals and tell their producers how great they are, because they really are. :)

Old Skool Italian Piano House Mix

Well they don't come much bigger than this ginormous Classic Piano Anthem. It's anniversary is actually next year as it was released on white label (CAT# DESA3) at the beginning of 1991, containing all the original samples. The track was written by Eamonn Deery, Shaun Imrei and Nick Murphy who also recorded, mixed and mastered it at his home studio.
Deconstruction Records (CAT# 12R 6303) picked it up releasing it in November 1991, but due to copyright infringements and threats of legal proceedings, the original samples had to be replaced. Even so it still went on to reach No.5 in the UK Top 40.
I had the second white label with the number 2 and Nipper written in it in pen, Sasha had number 1.
Finally, I was their support DJ when they toured the UK in 1992.

Not Forgotten is the glory years of house music, relived, revived and remembered.

Never a day goes by, without considering myself incredibly lucky. I was one of the millions, out there on the dance floor, eyes closed, hands in the air, completely absorbed by a new kind of electronic music. The sound was house. It was loud, it was hypnotic and an entire generation was moved by its beat. Those who were there were probably witnessing the last great cultural uprising this country will ever see. Whether it was Hip House, Chicago House, Acid House, Italian Piano, New Beat, or a hundred other variations on the House theme, the effect it had on us was the same. Pure euphoria. These were crazy days and even crazier nights. The convoys, the warehouse parties, the clubs, the vinyl, the camaraderie and the sense of belonging. These are moments that should not be forgotten. In fact, they should be celebrated as the best days of our lives.
