This week we welcome accomplished Italian producer Nico Lahs, aka  Nicola Loporchio.  Hailing from Bari(Italy)he has been releasing deep, classy house music and high-quality sounds for over a decade on the likes of Ovum, Poker Flat and Rawax to name a few.

2020 saw the producer ramp up his output after a five years hiatus during which he focused on his Cosmic Garden alias and started his label Cosmic Rhythm, releasing in May “Freedom”, an LP of smokey vintage house,via Detroit born/Beijing based Adeen Records, to then issue a 12-inch via Brooklyn’s Dailysession Records and finally cap off this stellar run with an EP, “Blow Your Mind”, on Dan Curtin’s Metamorphic Recordings.

This year Nico Lahs released “Got Me Coming Back” on Jimpster’s Delusions Of Grandeur and “Make Up - The Edits” which is a compilation of hand picked 70s & 80s 39s featuring hidden dance, funk and disco gems compiled by Chez Damier which have been retouched and edited himself.

We're back in 2022 with another episode of our NIMH Podcast.

Italian born dj/producer, FLAZE grew up in the South of Italy where he was exposed to a variety of underground beats from an early age.
The electronic sound - specifically techno - were his beats of choice from the early ‘90s; paving the way for his future career and artistic growth.
His live début at the decks came in 1995; he started out DJ'ing at parties and subsequently he joined the Studio One Radio team participating in their popular house night.

In 2013 he joined forces with his old hometown friend Nanni, creating Ruff Stuff and the connected label Ruff Stuff Music Ltd, with the intent of spinning a more raw and groovy sound.

As Ruff Stuff he has released tunes on different labels, such as Shabby Doll Records, Silence in Metropolis, Rough Recordings, Rarehouse Records, King Street Sounds, RM Records UK, Cahoots Records, Quality Vibe Records, and more, gaining support from Marco Carola, Laurent Garnier, T. Williams, B. Traits, Marco Faraone, Javi Bora, Roger Sanchez, Ben Sims, Black Loops, Cinthie and more…

Flaze is now pursuing a solo career. In 2021 he released "Brigade EP" under Entrepôt Records, which marks his debut effort as a solo artist.

Mick Wilson and August Artier explore a deeper underground club sound with this 90 min mix, crossing over between house and techno with slight electro and breakbeat references thrown in for good measure. 

To capture the essence of an intimate dance floor experience the mix was recorded live in front of a studio audience, (a child and a cat). The musical journey slowly guides you through the darker side of dance music, treating you to the sounds that you would expect to hear in a small hidden underground club away from the flashing lights of the mainstream. Partially mixed across vinyl and digital platforms featuring some new cuts as well as treasured B sides the mix ebbs and flows as it weaves its way deftly from start to finish to what can be expected now that we’ve returned to the dance floor.
