We are kicking off our mix series with a very special guest: NESA AZADIKHAH. Hailing from Teheran (Iran), Nesa is a dj and a music producer in her own right, with several releases ranging from ambient electronics to industrial techno. As the founder of Deep House Tehran, a pioneering platform dedicated to pushing forward electronic music culture in Iran and connecting with the global electronic music scene, her work is more relevant than ever.

Nesa’s taking us on a 90ies infused trip with fast paced breaks, acid lines, dreamy pads and vocals.

The second guest on our monthly radio show on @radioalhara is no one less than our resident CHEB RUNNER. Buckle up for an hour of tastefully remixed Arabic pop classics and experimental beats.

Producer Cheb Runner (real name Reda Senhaji) is a musical hurricane rooted in Moroccan soil, exploring electronic musical landscapes. Nurtured by both worlds, he represents a new sound of in-betweenness. Using first hand sounds and recordings of his own sample bank based on traditional instruments, he mixes playfully analog with digital effects supported with a unique collection of synthesizers.

Sunday evening in a club in Berlin – In advance I wasn't sure what genres and mood I would like to play. In the end, the set covered a wide range of moods and phases, which I also went through while playing.

At the beginning of the set I played some records that have been on my shelf for quite some time and that I haven't played for a while. This is followed by some housy and more technoid rediscoveries from my collection and a few of my current favourite bass, electro and breaks tracks. In between, of course, I've also played some great tracks that I've only recently discovered.

@aroh-dj is part of Kontakt Group and often spotted at @crevetterecords. Hangin’ around on the streets of the Brussels Capital Region and collecting some wonderfully weird records and MP3’s along the way. Not to be pinned down in a corner or genre but with his eyes always on the prize, Aroh brings a selection of tunes deeply rooted in the archive of the subterranean music catalogues.

Since Julius aka Sova moved into the Palais Palett / Objekt klein a cultural ‚WG‘, he‘s deepened the musical identity of the place by several deptitudes with his stylistic confidence and musical sensitivity. That is also what defines this mix, a continues stream of on point drums and groovy baselines ending in jazzed out house bliss. Is it 7am or 7pm, the sun rising or setting? No one knows, no one cares. And as you sip from your Beauty-Sekt and tap your feet onto the wooden palettes, gazing over the top of your lowered sunglasses, you say to your friends „mhh yeah this is nice“.

Seit Julius aka Sova in die Palais Palett / Objekt klein a Kultur-WG eingezogen ist, vertieft er die musikalische Identität des Ortes mit Stilsicherheit und musikalischem Feingefühl um einige Deepness-Grade. Stilsicherheit und Feingefühl sind auch das, was diesen Mix ausmacht: ein kontinuierlicher Strom von rhythmischen Drums und groovigen Baselines, der in verjazztem House-Bliss endet. To open the dances of our long-awaited July is an exceptional artist: Simon Oak. From Perugia with fury, passion and a pinch of madness: Co-founder of the Black Finesse duo, versatility and experimentation are the keywords of each of his musical performances.
Nothing is created, nothing is destroyed, everything is transformed. Like its sound.
The lens through which he sees and translates the world comes from the (almost) perfect union between science and art: just as the interaction of atoms is allowed by a chemical bond that allows the creation of molecules, in the same way he shapes the rhythm of his set by assembling heterogeneous sonorities.
The result of both processes is the same: release of energy.
The set he gave us is the forest that is subdued by the darkness of the night and by the sound of his records: it's our trees that make room for themselves in the night, dancing.
It's so easy, with Simon Oak, to already feel at the Komorebi Music Festival.
