Houston’s newest and most extensive festival, freshdark Fest, will take over and occupy the minds and hearts of this great city’s music enthusiasts on June 20th, 2015 at the Last Concert Café on 1403 Nance Street. freshDark aims to create an imaginative and inspiring environment that seeks to expose and foster an appreciation for many emerging artists, ranging from Electronica, Funk, Acid Jazz, Broken Beat, Soul, Reggae, Hip-Hop—future sounds generated in an organic fashion. 
Headlining this inaugural boutique festival are Shafiq Husayn of Sa-Ra Creative Partners who have produced music for seminal artists such as Kanye West, Andre 3000, Robert Glasper, Bilal, and countless other music aficionados. The co-headliners, OSHUN, are fresh off of the Red Bull Sound Select stage, AFROPUNK FEST, and Broccoli Fest working most recently with Neo Soul’s reigning queen, Erykah Badu. 

Curators of freshDark have worked tirelessly to bring the most adventurous artists, initiating an annual festival with the hope to bring together a coalition of local and international artist who specialize in pushing sonic terrain that has yet to be discovered.
