This track, included in the EP “A Momentary Convergence of Differently Paced Trajectories”, is Maurizio Ravalico’s personal take on “Fear of Mapping”, one of the tracks on “No Fiction Now!”, the debut album of his notorious trio Fiium Shaarrk.

The piece employs a computer model of a penguin, some cellular automata and hierarchical concatenative synthesis to manifest and interrogate this ‘mal d’archive’.

In this dimension sonic entities fusions to multiply. Meeting one another, for then to divide themselves in time and space. Like a cocktail going back to its roots. Reversed/Respaced. An inner invasion of a myriad of small vibrant critters, in groups and alone, fluctuating strings intensely. Set in motion with an eternity of goals. The vigour voyage, takes its form. Bending, curling, twirling, whirling, rotating, solid/smooth. Aeons will define their destiny.....

Here is a small sample using three speeds, I synched the tape loop with the pitch events using the doepfer a-100 system
