Inspired by their old heroes from My Dying Bride and Anathema, Ball Noir brews her own music: a sparkle of metal, a distillate of folk and a drop of drum ‘n base. Elegantly they mix their medieval sound with heavy guitars and electronics. What is so special about Ball Noir? They are the first band in the Netherlands to mix balfolk music with metal. The contrast might not be bigger and yet without hesitation modern hippies and old rockers find inspiration in their music. Ball Noir knows the cadence of a cercle, bourree and mazurka and combines that with a good rhythm to bang your head. They play with fierce enthusiasm and are not afraid to experiment on their newly paved path of balfolk-metal and to look for new styles outside the known musical world. Every Ball Noir live show gives a glimpse into their laboratory: a feast of wings, candles, clocks and costumes.
