I like to imagine there was an incident Where Doise accidentally killed Peddito, and he tried bringing him back through necromancy, But something went wrong and brought Peddito back not as his usual self, but as a vengeful spirit who HATES The Doise for what he's done, and destroys anything Doise related.

And for what happened to Doise, the failed necromancy fused Doise to his costume (like The Man in the Suit from a Godzilla analouge horror series) and drove him slightly insane. 

This event also created the Doise growth, something similar to the crawl from Vita Carnis that creates creatures called Doiseys and Doiselings. 

The Doise growth itself is like the background element from Doise's boss stage, starting off as a large Doise head (that sprouts from Doise's boogers or something) first, then grows more vines and smaller doise heads from it.

Doiselings are little Doise heads that snap off it's vine underdeveloped, usually as just heads with little legs. They can be kept as pets (like the trimming from Vita Carnis).

Doiseys are fully developed Doiselings, with complete bodies. They all have some tiny difference from the original. They're not that smart and are simple creatures, but they are capable of learning (if not killed by Peddito).

Whenever Doise dies, his soul gets transferred to the nearest doise growth and regenerates his body. This process is faster than making Doislings and Doiseys, only taking several minutes rather than several hours or days. There is no range to how far the growths can be, so he could Die in America and end up in Venezuela. Speaking of Venezuela...

El Diego was a bit of a Doise growth that (somehow) ended up in Venezuela and got deep fried, tossed, and dumped in a landfill. That deep fried piece of growth grew into a Doisey nearly identical to the original, except for the change in color and knowledge of Venezuelan culture. He knows about the culture because he was deep fried in Venezuelan vegetable oil, making him Venesualian himself. The locals found him at some point and we're like "Oye, vamos a conservar a este pequeño." This could probably be a side plot.
