Following Muriel Grossmann, Nat Birchall, Chip Wicham and fellow Frenchman Florian Pellissier, I am thrilled to welcome another of my favorite contemporary jazz musicians: Matthew Halsall!

Label manager of Gandwana Records (Portico Quartet, Hania Rani, Dwight Trible Allysha Joy, …), Matthew dove into this guest session alternating between spiritual and free jazz of Alice Coltrane, John Coltrane, Don Cherry, Donald Byrd, McCoy Tyner, Yusef Lateef with some newer future jazz classics like his  Gondwana Orchestra and fellow UK jazz greats Wildflower.

As for me, I put together a mix in two parts. An introduction with spiritual jazz and ambient touches starting with Floating Points' project with Pharoah Sanders. Closing out the show with more dynamic sounds of Jazz Fusion and Broken Beat to close out with an incredible new track from the STR4TA project!

Hey young world
It´s the 4th Sunday of advent and it´s me myself & I behind the door of perception 22, Tom Wienland (Free Soul Inc.). So what to play early evening in a club that is filling up after the record fair had ended with hungry crate diggers, deck sharks & every kind of party people? In this short Waxsafari Live DJ recording I went for a classic blockparty party fire starter set , all across the midtempo  board, from New Wave Reggae, Modern Soul, Island Funk , Brazilian Samba, Slomo Disco, to Kraut Electro & French Boogie. Musical diversity is my key, I like to freestyle .The challenge with mysef is to improvise my selection on the fly..which results sometimes in a bit wobbly beat mixes, haha. Mistakes are human.
