"This group of 9-year-old friends love doing things together. The group has been coming into the studio about once a week for a while now, actively participating in our songwriting workshops. The group had started a handful of songs before finding one that everybody could get behind. The girls helped me craft the beat of the song using the Ableton Push and acted as Executive Producers for the rest of the instrumental, often giving me notes like ""I want it to sound sparkly,"" or ""Make it pretty!""
The lyrics were written by Malia Denson-Jones, Damiya Payne, Aniya Gant, with Arianna featuring on the vocals in their friend Makailah's absence.
I'm very proud of these girls for putting aside their differences and disagreements to come together and create something with a positive message that everyone needs to remember now and then."

Jakar Rice aka Lil J-Rock is a 9-year-old rapper and songwriter from Saint Paul, MN. His debut track entitled ""Trapped"" touches on some serious subject matter for his age. Jakar talks about feeling trapped in the world and wanting to make positive changes despite his situation.  We originally recorded the track over a beat made by sampling Al Green's "Something,"" but decided to give the song a more intense, trap-style beat to accent the emotions of the lyrics. "

"In 2018, we had the opportunity to welcome members of Strange Oasis Entertainment into our studio in Saint Paul. This group features performing artists Lucien Parker, Bravo and DJay Mando. After the group performed and talked with our members about following their passions and what success looks like today, they stuck around to listen to some our teen producers' beats. 

Lucien heard a beat 14-year-old Ronald had made and immediately got to work writing in the booth. Lucien's biggest hit single ""Impossible"" recently surpassed 1 million streams on Spotify, so it's fair to say that he knew what he was doing! 

16-year-old Ameer AKA Salim hopped on the second verse of the track and everything just fell into place. It was a surreal experience for our members to collaborate in real-time with professional artists and has given our members an increased sense of purpose and drive for their music careers.
