Reflected Light

This recording was around midnight, it had just stopped raining. I heard them calling in a field near my garden and rushed out with my recording gear.
I didn't quite have time to get my levels set right.
At one point a female flew right over my head calling, it was so close the recording peaked and is distorted (sorry about that!).
I've never heard so many female calls in such a short space of time.
I love the natural echo's from the calls bouncing off the houses in the village.
The odd distant sounds of cracking branches and rustling are from cows in a wood opposite!
Recorded using a Telinga parabolic reflector with stereo dat mic to an Edirol R4 Pro recorder.

A review of Copsford, by Walter Murray.

Today we have a mellow mix out by an artist with whose work we recently fell in love with: Polypores. Hard to place in one category but with noticeable influences of synthwave, ambient, and drone, he himself describes his music as ‘Cosmic sleep music, sci-fi soundtracks and haunted drones’. Recently he released Azure and Tempus, an album which is out through Woodford Halse tapes. He also has some projects in the pipeline: Myriad for label @castlesinspace, Shpongos for @bluetech and a few others. 

Lastly, he is creating an album completely with his custom built Dopefer modular system. ánd he is working on a special collab for Miracle Pond with Gareth E Rees, who is the author of Unofficial Britain, a book/platform which focusses on celebrating the overlooked part of Britain in the past and present.
