Drunk, 16. When the time was right we drove the car to the beach in the dark.
Quietly. I swam as far out as I could, ignored the screams.

Pitch black freshwater played the role of headphones.
Even darker sky, my tv and my telephone.
Emma worried, maybe sensed something I did not know.
I do now, though.

Grew up too soon. Brought brick weed and imagined truth. Laughing moon.
Black cocoon. Still the same old water passing time. New kids by the waterline.
And in my head they swim again towards the deepest part.
All their friends back on the beach with hindsight in their hearts.
No, it´s mine, since no one is there. Guess I played the role a bit too hard...

Backstroke - (Keep finding old songs that refuse to die)

Messy project. Just felt like singing something. It´s 04:36 am, and I guess my neighbors love it. But they are the kind of people who sleep, and therefore they have no right to complain.  Mixing is for quitters. And for people with computers that does not break down when the tracks get too many. I always have an excuse, and I reserve my right to have one.

I remember the stories, the fables far from fear. When you are born you are crying, then you laugh and you die, the circle never disappear. And I miss my old instincts, to lust to, trust and to feel. You saw snowflakes in flight, I saw rain in disguise, accepted judgments singing in my ear.

I remember how simple the questions often would be. Is this forest all trees, are you staying with me? If not just let this animal run free, even if I would get lost in the pines, bushes and leafs.

For some reason, years after finding his first album, I listened to Elvis Perkins yesterday while enjoying the sweet nature of an epic hangover after an even more epic midsummer-eve. So I recorded some kind of live cover to keep the stomach where it belongs. A bit too low pitched, but who has the energy to move the capo? Kinda gritty sound since I  recorded both the guitar and vocal into the same mic in one take, and also because my voice was kinda muffed up, but none of those facts are new, so I will stop writing about now.
