"Normally I know that high expectations kill the vibe, so I always try to walk my way open minded and don’t expect anything special from the future, but this time I couldn’t help it. When the Robot told me that she wanted me to play the sunrise set and that we will be connected with the Mayan Warrior soundsystem, I could feel it already in Berlin a full three weeks before… Then when I finally took the bus over to Robot Heart it was even better than in my craziest expectations. This gig was by far the most emotional gig I have ever played. All I can say is thank you, I am even more happy now to be born on this weird planet which can be really beautiful sometimes, when you give it  chance to be free. Thank you you for dancing with me and giving me so much Love. So here is my try to give something back.

The human body is the most highly engineered object in existence, a machine of uncountable parts and unfathomable function. Its workings have served as inspiration for all of humanity's greatest inventions. This work is an homage to the two most amazing mechanisms in that machine: the human eye and hand. The head is a 16 foot camera obscura demonstrating the ray optics principals underlying the spherical lensed eye humans posses and the hands are actuated mimicking the tendons and bones of the body. Together they represent what separates life from the rest of the universe, the ability to observe the world around us and manifest change in that world.

Mumbaata is about worshiping the body and the mind, represented in its music through a balanced percussion and sublime melodies. Both elements are tuned to provide a challenging experience into the unknown.

This project is the result of extensive research and experience of its producers, in which differences add up, creating a new element. Lennox is a DJ, music producer and percussionist, with a very strong vein in electronic music and Brazilian music. As to Joint, he is a keyboardist and a sound engineer with a solid musical formation, having produced several electronic music and hip-hop projects. 

Their productions have been released by labels such as Re : Sound (England) and Tropical Beats (Brazil). They remixed the track “Lock The Doors“ produced by one of Chicago’s housemasters Marshall Jefferson. 

In live performances they use drum machines, synthesizers and electronic drum pads.

Premiere: Tube & Berger ft Richard Judge - Dust Feel (Roumex Remix)

Dortmund-based imprint Kittball welcomes a heavyweight collaboration between Bunny Tiger founder Sharam Jey and London’s Vanilla Ace who deploy two vibrant cuts entitled ‘My Thang’.
Since the ‘90s Sharam Jey has produced over 100 releases on labels like Toolroom, 8Bit and Suara, not to mention helming his own imprints King Kong and Bunny Tiger. Meanwhile, Vanilla Ace has made appearances on Spinnin’ Deep, Simma Black and Night Bass. The pair first collaborated with each other on Sharam Jey’s Bunny Tiger in 2013 and have worked with each other numerous times since.
A meaty kick and rolling snares meet an infectious vocal line in ‘My Thang’ as a sultry low-end rumbles onwards. ‘The Boom Bap’ then presents a fine display of percussive hits and heady breaks, moody bassline, chopped up vocal samples and sinister effects.
