she doesn‘t understand
what this silence
around her
is for

after all
there‘s this desire
feeding meditaton industries
monetizing inner calm
awareness

each human being
a kettle about to boil over
spill watery, bubbly, glittering marbles
sweet nothings kept for
nobody‘s sake

each mind‘s mouthpiece
a pressure valve, vibrating
under strain not to let off steam
verbosely explode
right nto her face

she still wouldn‘t mind
for this audience of roaring silences
to turn a listening ear
towards her artistic endeavours
every now and then

the late night theatres are waterfalls
they tell the same jokes every night
locks for the river that runs along broadway
i stand on the street and get hit by the flood
just like my father did, waiting for my mother
i do it now, waiting for you
you exit the theatre once in a blue moon 
yesterday i heard you say i’ll see you tomorrow
but i might have misheard what you said after all

sometimes i think that it’s always been there
growing like a fungus, always by my side
just like a dog, or a strange younger brother
i wonder if one day it will have to die
i keep a fish in a bottle by my bed
i release it in the stream 
under the wooden bridge
i release it in the stream
once it gets too big
