As announced by Fill-Lex Records, the Valencian label had planned to close at the end of the year, or the beginning of 2022, the series of Zar del Olimpo releases by Rise Black, a producer who divides his nationality between Russia and Greece, although he currently resides in Seville and is already one more in the Spanish electro scene, with several proposals such as Electronic Wave, which is regularly held in the Prisma room in Seville.

Maxim Gkikaev was planning to release a second volume of this cycle, thus bringing to an end this work composed of tracks created in the pre-pandemic era, between 2016 and 2019. This second part of Zar del Olimpo follows in the same wake as its predecessor album, a musical line oriented towards a primordial base derived from electro, however, various influences from other genres can be appreciated. 

On this occasion, the artist reduces the number of tracks, leaving the album with 7 tracks, as opposed to the 11 of the first volume. Zar del Olimpo Vol.2 starts with Artificial Dance, a track in which he shows great skill in combining structures and textures that we can perfectly place in styles such as electro, acid or industrial, as the physiognomy of its punch is forceful, its rhythm is syncopated and its scarce melody is hypnotic. END coincides very little with the previous cut, quite the contrary, since although it is rhythmically commanded by a break, the musicality is a very important element that is not always shown, since the arpeggio only appears on two occasions, as well as inverting the forcefulness of the punch with metallic percussive elements. Wolfs Forest closes side A with a great dose of originality, as Rise Black dedicates this track to this animal, with howls included and with an electronic sound background, electro in its purest state to vindicate the figure of the wolf.

Veneno (Version 2) opens side B with a lower level of dynamism than the previous tracks. On this occasion, it once again shows its electronic character and a slow cadence. Ugly But Cute is a cut with a bright sound and lacking in low frequencies, in which a neat rhythmic base is once again joined by two arpeggiated lines. Luz del Cielo is a track in which the impact of various styles can be appreciated and in which care is taken to ensure that its sonic nature is metallic and electronic. The album closes with Sad Goodbye, a new electro cut very appropriate to say goodbye to this series of releases.

Premiere: Rise Black - Artificial Dance [Fill-Lex Records]

Divine Swelling shapes two different approaches to a style that can have different interpretations, just like the name itself with which it is usually qualified, as it can be perfectly defined according to the sonic development used by each author. In this album we can differentiate how a style such as industrial death goes beyond the tiny line that exists between this subgenre and power electronics, however, most of the times both sounds and styles overlap to create a common environment.

This album does not pretend to give a musical lesson for any user to appreciate both differences in style, it only shows the ability of two producers to generate an abysmal sound, based on extreme drones, hellish vocals, beleaguered rhythms and harsh and distorted sound designs.

This alliance is formed by the Catalan producer Noir Noir, who signs the six tracks of side A, in which he promotes different forms associated with power electronics and abrasive industrial, with dense landscapes, terrifying vocals, electrifying textures and esoteric rhythms. Vesakh is in charge of the four tracks on side B, a project created from anonymity and which exhibits in this album a great creative potential to transform any sound source into a plea based on noise and its corrosive nature.

L.I.E.S. Records boss Ron Morelli makes a rare appearance on his own imprint with a limited edition promo 12 inch due out October 6th. As the press release states, on this record Morelli returns to his early roots that took form at his label's inception, with two tracks (4 tracks in total) of stripped back, emotional, old school House that sound like lost relics from the days of WBMX. This record serves as an early promo for his just announced "HEART STOPPER" lp which will see its release on L.I.E.S. in Spring of 2023

@desert.drone is the audiovisuals Techno/Industrial/Noise project of the italian musician Mauro Uda, based in Berlin, co-founder of @autonoma.industriale . His approach to live music, developed during the years through the obsession for dramatic and dark sounds, leads to a quasi-nihilistic and distorted music structure, with noisy rhythms and rough bass line that walk in an anti-utopic vision of the fact.

He’s actively in the mainteinment and the development of the Industrial scene in Berlin, promoting events and artistic collaborations in a broad spectrum, with the aims of a coherent and unitary reworking of the path of individuals, towards the uniqueness of the contemporary industrial movement.

Composed by four tracks “Efisio Says No” is full of heavy atmospheres: as rust corrodes metals over time, social and human misfortunes affect our lives, scratching and indelibly sculpting us on our path.

Pain and a sense of injustice move in the maccabre rhythms of “Sindia”, where without light the earth crumbles at every step, making the journey heavy in a sad atmosphere that is clearly manifested in “Unsolecited Visions”, which is expressed in a sharp lament that abhors revenge and calls for justice.

Accelerationism, adaptability, awareness of the senses and increase of the Ego pave the way for “Charge and Discharge”, in a coherent sonic evolution that reaches its maximum with the affirmation of oneself as primordial power:

Desire is captured in its most instinctive and pre-rational aspect, reaching the maximum expression of the Ego with “Efisio Says No”.

The Ep will be released the 25.02.23 with a event in Berlin in collaboration with Autonoma Industriale.

PREMIERE | Desert Drone - Unsolecited Visions [Brutal Forms]

Faith Discipline presents on the same release two of the proposals that best define its identity as a recording project. Two artists, or two bands, or a band and an artist, who coincide in some of their qualities and who also perfectly represent the sound line that the label has pursued since it was launched in 2015. German Army and Group have a lot in common, but their personalities are also unique, as are the objectives that influence their work.

German Army and Group coincide in several ways, both operate from anonymity and their approach to music production is also very similar. The style and sound of German Army and Group is mainly based on extreme and lo-fi treatments, and their music can be categorised as tribal, industrial, ethnic or experimental. However, German Army adds to their style a series of moral principles, as the project is based on a vindictive nature with continuous messages and appeals to the population and the rulers, the health of our planet is in extreme danger and with it the life and dignity of the underprivileged.

We expand the information about the fifth anniversary of Soil Records by dedicating a new post to the quintuple album released by the Valencian label to commemorate its five years of history. As we already mentioned, this album is divided into five CDs of ten tracks, so in the second post we analyse and get to know the content of the second CD.

With a more electronic and more powerful sound, this second CD is a compilation that moves away from the more post-punk aspects of the first CD. Zaatar opens with Disappearance Attempts, a slow, acid and forceful EBM in which we can appreciate influences from the dark sound and also from the artist's Arabic roots, as the melodic conjugation is based on the harmonic minor scale. Local Suicide is the duo formed by Max Brudi and Dina Pascal, a couple that has evolved in recent years towards a darker style, although Athanasia is not an excessively dark track, but rather an absolutely synthetic sonic development. Soil Records presents Anne Artikel, a Colombian artist also known as Magdalena, who exhibits with 000004 an abstract musical form with an irregular rhythmic structure, a dominant bass line and a broken voice. Attack, the cut by Israeli producer E-Bony, draws on post-punk influences and adapts them to a contemporary, electronic sound environment. Variety is the predominant tone of this release, and Sex Kino, a duo formed by James Brook and Josefine Larsson, offers a rather curious sound mix as Shake It reminds us of 90s Eurodance, among other musical genres.

Paradox Obscur, the artistic couple formed by Toxic Razor and Kriistal Ann, contribute to this album with Sin Barreras, arpeggiated techno in which Kriistal adds a reflective message with her voice. Landed Image is a completely unknown project, the style he employs with Two Sides of Everything is a hodgepodge of industrial textures, electric guitar and sinister vocals, taken to the limit of saturation. Catalan artist and resident of Barcelona's Moog, Ruben Seoane, participates in this album with the forceful and intense techno of Hoags Object. The Spanish duo NX1, founded at the beginning of the last decade by Samot and Joan Sureda, adds solidity and power with SL1, a track that faithfully shows the industrial style of the project. Dark Vektor, a producer who also hails from Catalonia, closes this second CD with El puto Menja Olles, electronic post-punk with a penetrating voice and a message in Catalan that is quite original and direct.

Italian label ALLEY VERSION continues its 'Tracks From The Alley' series of releases with a fourth instalment in which it continues to explore the oblique edges of the jackin zone, dragging recognisable primitive elements of dance music through the narcotic madness; a possible soundtrack for sleepless nights at the skate park. 

In this new volume, the Japanese producer Takeshi Kouzuki, who besides having participated in the previous instalments, has been, together with FLML, the most collaborative artist in this project, is missing. We should bear in mind that the first volume of 'Tracks From The Alley' was a split album between both projects. On the other hand, this new 4-track mini-compilation features the Greek DJ/producer DimDj, the Italian producer based in Berlin and part of Sons Of Traders, TANS, the Brazilian based in Portugal and owner of the Unrealistic Expectations label Nothing Was There, and the FLML brothers, owners of ALLEY VERSION.

Nothing Was There is Edvan Marques Ferreira, aka MVQX. The project was born to be the output of all his live-cassette recordings and that's the case of the track 'The Owl (House Slaughter)', a raw combo of jackin beats and industrial music, recorded with two machines and a delay pedal directly into a cassette tape.

Poladroïd, originating from Belgium, the featured producer is renowned for blending electro and IDM with a fierce energy, notably showcased on labels like Science Cult and his own Roulette Rekordz. However, Poladoïd offers a departure from his usual style with this release, which feels like a spiritual successor to his previous work "Eurosiberie" on Detriti.

Drenched in dense, filtered atmospheres and infused with nostalgic echoes of a bygone era, 'Danse Macabre' exudes a dark and gritty ambiance, straddling the realms of retro-futurism and melancholic machine melodies. Drawing inspiration from a spectrum as wide as Holderlin's 'Hyperion' and the poetic works of Robert Brasillach and Charles Baudelaire, 'Danse Macabre' showcases Poladroid's versatility in crafting diverse sonic landscapes while maintaining a signature sound.
