This song means a whole lot to me. Pretty much in all of my track descriptions I talk about how much I like harmony, how much I want to put it in my songs, yada yada. Well, it all started in this one. Back in June 2021, after a great trip with some of my friends, I had the initial idea for this song. Hearing two of my peers, Qwaston and Voljum, making incredible bass music in such an honest, personal and incredible way inspired me to go "Hey, I should do the same, I think it's time to make a statement track. Maybe it's bad, maybe it's good, but I'm gonna try to pull from as many things I love and craft what my vision for dubstep is". Fast forward many, many months later, and here we are. To be fair, this track didnt end up becoming what i initially hoped it would, but that's fine. This is just the start of my journey, and I will become better, as a musician and as a human being, in hopes that someday i can achieve what I've set myself to create. Maybe that never happens, but I'll certainly try. This is my first attempt.

Also, when i say "pulling from as many things I love", i mean it. I documented how many songs inspired me to make this one, and I counted 29 in total. Thats a lot! I should post the list some day.

August and September have been really busy months for me: a ton of IRL work and lots of life changes, coupled with the release of my first EP a month ago. All of that brought me to pretty much not touch the DAW in a pretty long time. When I finally got a bit of free time, I all wanted to do was indulge... and turns out my idea of self-indulgence is grabbing a 1986 Jazz Fusion song, taking all the harmony and melody word for word bar for bar, and remixing it using the production style of an Inverted Silence flip. Double ripoff. Hell yeah! The indulgence gets even worse as the song progresses...

I had a ton of fun doing this, I hope you guys dig it!

This song was actually inspired by a conversation I had with Voljum around when minus1 was released a year or so ago. He suggested me I should try to do a song purely by sampling other songs, not even adding drums no nothing. I didn't go fully in that direction (there's people like O-Prime Delta who kill it in that style) but regardless i tried to push my chopping style into the extreme, and this is the result

What's this, the 4th or 5th time a song starts as a joke but I end up liking it so I turn it into an actual thing? I initially made 30 seconds of it purely as joke to put on twitter, but the clip of it went crazy and I'm pretty aware that a lot of people enjoyed takealook! , so I decided to do another song in this vein. During this year I've been very fortunate to meet and hang out with a bunch of extremely talented producers from the Vocaloid scene, and this song samples them substantially. I guess this as a very convoluted way of showing appreciation.

And of course, big shoutouts to @invertedsilence because right when I thought I had the song finished, he quite literally saved it. Thank you man.
