This hybrid DJ / Live Set was recorded in a yurt structure at the Freerotation Festival in Wales. This time my idea for the set was to take us all much further out, much deeper inside than the set from last year. A more disembodied experience. 

As I had done last year, I sat on the floor in front of the speakers to perform instead of behind them as a DJ normally does. This greatly enhanced my feeling of experiencing the set with the audience, dissolving the usual performer / audience divide.

To mark the 10th ØEN REC. release Fruit debuts with “Island Tape” a striking album of atmospheric and cinematic soundscapes. Originally from Iceland, but based in Denmark Fruit has been making waves in the Copenhagen club scene with his eloquent DJ and live-sets. On “Island Tape” Fruit presents a more personal and introspective side to his distinctive production skills. 

Cultivating soundscapes and narratives that are melancholic yet uplifting, the album is a highly intimate and emotional journey. Across the album’s seven tracks Fruit showcases his unique sound, navigating between ambient soundscapes, percussive melodic house and haunting atmospheres. Skilfully crafted and executed, we are incredibly pleased to share this one with you as our tenth release.

We have been observing your world from a distance for some time under the guise of a series of transmissions known as ‘mixtapes’ as a method of research, via digital interaction with your intriguing species.

Our observations of your world have been both confusing and, more recently, concerning. Thus we present to you, Galactic Service Broadcasting. A musical initiative that aims to raise credits in support of some of the most vital humanitarian services and organisations. Any and all credits raised as a result of this broadcast will be donated to charities supporting the front line workers of the organisation known as the National Health Service.

Galactic Service Broadcasting Vol. 1 [Compilation Sampler]

We are beyond excited to have Moscow's Powerhouse Club resident, XNTRS giving us an exciting hour long journey through leftfield chug and tripped out low to mid tempo electronica.

We first discovered Alena Rakova (XNTRS) stumbling upon a mix of hers for Belgian radio station, Kiosk Radio. A staple in the Moscow underground scene, with sets ranging from low tempo rollers to breaks and psychadelic house, she isn't shy to dig deep and explore different styles and far out sounds.
