Michael Grellman created Nova Drones in 2010 as a solo project while living in Eugene, Oregon. His first, S/T EP was recorded in his makeshift home studio, The Hobo Lounge (named after it’s hobo spider residents). Since then, Grellman has moved to Los Angeles where the majority of A Kiss of Bliss was recorded.

'Bliss is a departure from the acoustic, bedroom sounds of his earlier S/T EP. Grellman's sound has evolved into a louder, glossier, shoegaze-drone inspired by Creation Records’ early 90’s catalog.  The dreamy, hypnotic swells that drift throughout 'Bliss also call to mind shoegaze forefathers Loop and Spacemen 3.

Nova Drones’ latest is composed of four tracks written, recorded, and performed almost entirely by Michael himself. The EP is an authentic vision of Grellman's past few years presented through a wall of distortion and soaked in an ocean of reverb.  These four tracks are a haunting confession in the form of a sonic portrait of Grellman's struggles through some of the darker moments of his past few years.
