Wandering through the trees she was wild and free to her own devices, in the forest she could whatever she pleased and whatever she liked. As the sun began to set the light grew fainter and softer between the branches of the old woodland - soon it would be time to retreat for the evening and settle down by the comfort of a fire. She was a free spirit, at one with the wild and as dazzling as they come. She was pure, reckless and simple in her means but that was the way of life when one leaves home forever. 

Retromigration is set to release a new EP on Wolf Music, an imprint which never fails to disappoint and has grown from strength to strength. Once a low key series of parties, now a multi faceted record label - this is an EP which emphasises just how far they've come.

This is GDWAX002 'Nostalgic Grooves', the second vinyl release from GLBDOM, a collection of six tracks from various artists, all sharing a distinct yet subtly old-school vibe: a short but super sweet excursion into the realms of retro-electronic styles reminiscent of the late 80s and early 90s.

Jeff The Fool gets things started on side A with some gorgeous, vintage-tinged deep house, while Scruscru & BR Selecta and FRR FONK bring the smooth but decidedly bumpy UKG and breakbeat vibes respectively. Over on the B side, Evenn comes through with some tasty jackin’ house business, followed by HATT.D bringing some silky smooth soulful house sounds.

Finishing things off in style is Marc Brauner & David Silver with sumptuous deep house grooves. This is one to watch out for, especially for the old school heads! Available soon on 12”.

"Year on year Oslo based party starting outfit Det Gode Selskab provide us with a jam packed sampler featuring artists from their collective, family and affiliates of the label, but also welcome a flurry of new artists on board each time. Split into 4 parts spread across the next few months the sampler kicks off with a heavyweight package curated by Jack himself. Heading up part one is Lazy Pete, label regular Henriku, Rex Ronny, Alm, a return for Philip Hinz, alongside Herman Crantz, and last but not least, Koloniari.

The beautiful, deep, house-energy in Lazy Pete’s opening track “She’s A Replicant (Underground Mix)” sets the stage, before you are hit with the huge drums and peak time action of Henriku’s “To The Mountains”. Conga time with pulsating bass action. Dreamy synths lead the way in the aptly named “Italo Cheese” from Rex Ronny. Hitting the nail on the head is also “Acid House Party '' by Alm, squelchy acid tones breathing life into the housey drum patterns. Let’s Jack. Teasing further rave action is Philip Hanz & Herman Crantz with “Stay”, a driven outing looking to lift the energy of the floor. Direct house music nostalgia in “Believe In Love”, the offering from Koloniari, beautiful keys conversing with the slick motion of the track, classy vocal samples flashing in and out.

This is just the beginning of this enormous sampler, so let’s hit the floor and get down to some of Jack’s favourites!

Time for something sweet and sticky off of Honey Butter's fourth release. Having previously made appearances on the boogie fantastic label Star Creature, Jehan steps up and delivers an EP full of deliciously bouncy, disco & jazz influenced riddims. 'Popcorn' is a plump little number, with smooth Rhodes and warm bass guitar skipping along to the swung-as-hell drums. But its those huge filtered synth chords that make the track when they drop. Oosshh
