Wandering through the trees she was wild and free to her own devices, in the forest she could whatever she pleased and whatever she liked. As the sun began to set the light grew fainter and softer between the branches of the old woodland - soon it would be time to retreat for the evening and settle down by the comfort of a fire. She was a free spirit, at one with the wild and as dazzling as they come. She was pure, reckless and simple in her means but that was the way of life when one leaves home forever.

"Year on year Oslo based party starting outfit Det Gode Selskab provide us with a jam packed sampler featuring artists from their collective, family and affiliates of the label, but also welcome a flurry of new artists on board each time. Split into 4 parts spread across the next few months the sampler kicks off with a heavyweight package curated by Jack himself. Heading up part one is Lazy Pete, label regular Henriku, Rex Ronny, Alm, a return for Philip Hinz, alongside Herman Crantz, and last but not least, Koloniari.

The beautiful, deep, house-energy in Lazy Pete’s opening track “She’s A Replicant (Underground Mix)” sets the stage, before you are hit with the huge drums and peak time action of Henriku’s “To The Mountains”. Conga time with pulsating bass action. Dreamy synths lead the way in the aptly named “Italo Cheese” from Rex Ronny. Hitting the nail on the head is also “Acid House Party '' by Alm, squelchy acid tones breathing life into the housey drum patterns. Let’s Jack. Teasing further rave action is Philip Hanz & Herman Crantz with “Stay”, a driven outing looking to lift the energy of the floor. Direct house music nostalgia in “Believe In Love”, the offering from Koloniari, beautiful keys conversing with the slick motion of the track, classy vocal samples flashing in and out.

Elemental Vol. 1 moves through earth, air, fire, and water not as metaphors but as emotional states. The songs drift like weather systems, mixing tenderness with atmosphere - acoustic guitars and field-warm vocals meeting the pulse of understated techno rhythms. The production is deliberately porous: wood and wire breathing alongside soft synths and spectral drum-machine traces. It's an "acoustic techno" album in the sense that rhythm and resonance share the same dirt. The songs carry the physical textures of wind in rafters, gravel underfoot, or rain on a roof, yet they shimmer with digital light. This meeting of folk intimacy and electronic timbres gives the album its peculiar gravity - part back-porch confession, part after-hours heartbeat.

Lyrically, Elemental Vol. 1 abandons conventional pop architecture. Instead of verse–chorus–bridge repetition, each piece unfolds as a field poem - free-form, continuous, and responsive to its own inner weather. The writing treats structure as tide rather than grid: refrains return when they need to, not when they're told to. This openness lets the language breathe in sync with the natural imagery that drives it - storms, light, stone, silence - and invites listeners to inhabit the songs as evolving spaces rather than predictable forms. Across the various mixes of its six song poems - We Learn the Sky, Don't Sightsee This Heart, Be a Storm in Me, Til the Heat Is Gone, You Happen Like Weather, and Wild Gifts - the album traces the cycles of intimacy and impermanence, finding in their motion the same quiet power that turns seasons, wheels, and hearts.
