Adrian Dziewanski is a musician, music writer and poet living in Vancouver, BC. Under his given name Dziewanski utilizes environmental recordings, found sound, and prepared instruments as pathways into deep-time sonic meditation. His music harkens to an exquisite stasis that was once the focus of western music’s ambient forefathers and foremothers. He also records as Riverkeeper, where he utilizes crude analog systems and magnetic tape as a rebuttal to a soulless, hyperdigital era. He believes in a steadfast approach to repetition and welcomes happenstance as a way to breathe life into the experimental arts. The artist’s interest in Japanese aesthetics, such as wabi-sabi — its emphasis on transience, impermanence, asymmetry, and loneliness — informs his life, and is at the center of all of his work.

Dziewanski’s music has been published by Gruenrekorder, Prairie Fire, 23five, Bivouac Recordings, Invisible Birds, and Rottenman Editions.
