South-East London's Joe Mirza, performing under the alias The Slow Revolt, has unveiled something rare - his own brand of contemporary electronic soul. A contrast against the superficial hyperactivity of online life, The Slow Revolt deals with the emotions that are harder to reveal in public.

His new single, 'All Your Own', is a perfect example. Lyrically, Joe is exploring the line between love and possessiveness, of nurturing someone only to feel eventual abandonment. The understated and propulsive beat flickers, enveloped by rousing synth bass and tar-thickened bells. There is an element of nostalgia in these textures, a deeper sadness. In playful minimalism and vocal intimacy, 'All Your Own' elevates, transcending the duality of love and possession. The Slow Revolt escapes the formula here, marrying a inner hysteria with a stark exterior. The result truly resonates, like with the very best songwriters, Joe has an innate sense of communication with the listener. These modern ballads recall those of Deptford Goth or Amateur Best.

Initially receiving attention for his remix of Patten's 'Peachy Swan', The Slow Revolt's singles are a regular fixture on radio, counting the likes of John Kennedy as fans. He's signed to new label FIELDS Records, and has provided support on tours for MMOTHS and label mate Max Cooper. Now performing live as a two-piece, two expert musicians sparring across live loops, precision triggered beats, guitar, and that voice.

The Biophonic Boombox Recordings delves into the vast depths of The Nightcrawlers’ self-published cassette catalog to collect and reflect upon the pioneering synthesizer trio’s hard-knuckled brand of kosmische musik made on the rugged outskirts of Philadelphia throughout the ‘80s. Working with the band’s living members and from a cache of original cassettes, Anthology’s collection tells The Nightcrawlers’ story through sprawling space epochs and inspired liner notes complete with ephemera from a seldom seen era of electronic music.
