La Columna de Fuego was born as a  supergroup from some of the best bands of the underground colombian scene (Los Beatniks, Los Flipper's, Siglo Cero, etc..).

Dig their ASTONISHING performance of this insane tune as the backing band of the colombian diva "Leonor Gonzáles Mina" on Germany during the summer of 1973. Amazing footage!:

"La Joricamba" also known as "a la mina no voy" is a traditional dance from the pacific coast of Colombia based on a legend about a beautiful woman charming a white slaver and helping to end slavery.

Next up on Eglo Records, we're pleased to announce the forthcoming LP release by Steve Spacek, 'Natural Sci-Fi' hits stores December 7th.

Natural Sci-Fi originally began production in 2005, shortly after the release of the now classic ‘Spaceshift’ album (which included the J-Dilla collaboration ‘Dollar’), but was never completed. Over the last few years Steve has added some tweaks and changes - including a new song and guests vocalists Oddisee and Natalie Slade - eventually finalising the project and readying it for its release in 2018. The album continues the post Spaceshift vibration of Steve’s signature production style and effortless vocal delivery. Swinging spaciously from past to present, packed with soul, sounding as fresh and relevant today as it did when it began back in 2005.

Since the albums inception Steve has released projects with Mark Pritchard as one half of Africa Hitech on Warp, an instrumental LP as Black Pocket for his brother D-Bridge’s Exit Records and a concept LP as Beat Spacek for Ninja Tune. Following a string of EP releases for Eglo over the last two years we are thrilled to finally be able to bring to you a full length release from one of the UK’s most unique and talented artists.

Steve Spacek 'Take Ova' ft. Oddisee

A rock concept album, as progressive as it is psychedelic, recorded by a 17 year old Tom Nehls and his high school friends in Minneapolis over a three month period in late 1972. Nehls original notes describe his influences: The Beatles, Zappa, Tolkien. But that amalgamation cannot prepare you for the depths that this wunderkind explored with first-time engineer Paul Stark, who would later found Twin/Tone Records and sign and develop punk legends The Replacements and dozens of other bands. 

Stark custom pressed a run of Paul 1000 copies of the album but 900 of them were destroyed when Nehls basement flooded.  He hand assembled the remaining copies, spray painting the first few covers and then pasting black and white sheets of paper on the rest. He sold a few copies to friends in his high school. And that, for nearly 20 years, was that.

Legendary psychedelic record collector Rich Haupt, one of the first  to discover Nehls’ album over three decades ago, writes “Imperfection is beauty, madness is genius and true genius never comes in a slick package. If these words are true, I Always Catch The Third Second Of A Yellow Light is the proof. " This album is a welcome addition to the genre Paul Major called “Real People Music;” a wonderful and sincere exploration of the human predicament that reveals more of itself with each listen.

This is the first vinyl reissue of the album, overseen by Nehls with Now-Again’s Egon, and mastered from Starks’ original tapes.

Been blogging, music sharing, etc. for a while now (see blog under this name) & DJing since 1982. I like all kinds of music.

Most of my playlists are not organized & just hold songs I'm interested in, many of which I haven't listened to yet.
