The Bristol-based producer returns to Soul Deep with another finely crafted group of musical compositions that take the listeners back to the golden era of Drum & Bass.  Each track has the depth, ethereal soundscapes, and rolling 808-style basslines that we loved in the late 90’s.  Tim’s love of this sound shines through in his productions, elevating the style to new heights with his highly refined ear for sound.  With previous releases on Soul Deep, Jazzsticks, Spearhead, Soul Brothers, Phuzion Digital, Influenza, and others, Tim has created a stunning catalog of inspiring musical creations.  

The Pure Immersion EP is another example of Tim’s superior musical production abilities.  The EP kicks off with the title track, “Pure Immersion,” which features rolling drums, lush Rhodes chords, smooth horn samples, perfect vocals, and a serene bassline that glides along with the melody.  “Wavestate,” is up next and is highlighted by rolling Amen drums, intelligent lead sounds, lush pads, swirling efx, and a rolling 808 bassline that adds the icing to the cake.  “Simulated Sunrise,” rounds out the EP in style with its echoing piano sounds, filtered pads, emotional strings, snapping drums, ticking percussion, and bouncy 808 bassline.  Overall, Tim Cant provides a master-class on producing the updated and modern late 90’s sound that we love!  Give it a listen and immerse yourself in the musical lushness!

Locked Concept's second drop of 2023 sees a return of Tellus to our Horizons release series.

The Horizons series looks to move away from the label's drum and bass roots, with the Loops EP as no exception. The four tracks range between 130 - 140 bpm and draw influence from across the spectrum of electronic music while still maintaining a signature Tellus sound.

It's not entirely fair to give Tellus full credit on this EP, as each track was started during a music production class at the high school he teaches at. Whether it was suggestions on which samples to use, recommendations on certain songs to draw influence from, input on the cover art, or simply the patience to sit through a tutorial on some component of producing, numerous high school students have had some form of influence or input on the creation of this four track EP.

After a first release very noticed by Bungle, Sound Enforcers welcomes this time the prodigy M-zine, one of the best kept secrets from Belgium.

M-zine have just released their excellent debut album 'Know When You're Ready' on Bristol's Sofa Sound label. He has also signed to some of the hottest labels on the scene such as 31 Records, Dispatch Recordings or Commercial Suicide to name a few.

M-zine opens this new project with the track '150 Miles From Earth' in collaboration with his Belgian friend Atmospherix. A modern and trippy drum & bass that should shake more than one on the dancefloor. 'EightOEight' wants to be more deep & funky, again combining modernity and old-school influence to get something original out of it. Then come 'Clip2' and 'Tools' in a minimal and mental register, loaded with techno influences. Simple & effective.

A connection initially forged via none other than the great Marcus Intalex, Goldie and Fossil Archive have since grown ever closer. As a fan of their collabs, Goldie soon began pushing Fossil Archive (aka Roberto) for music of his own, which many years later has coincided with the HeadzState launch.

This is the first of three EPs primed and ready for the label, showcasing why Fossil Archive has been considered one of the most exciting new UK techno artists in recent years. The 'Nightfall EP' fuses many influences from Detroit techno through to electro, and of course more breaks-focused electronic music. Fedor Stepanenko aka Nphonix aka @Lowres_music (with @voltanov) aka NxF (with @fiskyoioioi) aka Benway is a multi-genre electronic music artist from Moscow, Russia.

Fedor first made his mark on the electronic world via a slew of quality dancefloor-oriented drum&bass tunes from 2006 onwards, released on some of the genres preeminent labels. But the last 10+ years has seen Nphonix switch focus away from drum&bass towards a more diverse, polyrhythmic electronic palette, as bass / beats / techno and house all started to colour newer work.
