NPLGNN is a DJ, producer, curator, and promoter born in Naples and based in Barcelona.
He operates within the wide sonic spectrum of the sound-system hardcore continuum, at the intersections of mutant riddims and more abstract experimentations.

Often described as the "pre-Babel language of dance music" NPLGNN's artifacts are out of time, with the only intent to shake walls and bodies.

Dave Saved / NPLGNN - Eternal Flame

"Naples-based producers Davide Salvati (Dave Saved) and NPLGNN have united to give birth to Forever Now, fusing their unique post-rave sensibilities to engage in a new line of work to access a new scope of possibilities. Their first effort, “Eternal Flame” is a work of excavation: dissecting forms of escapism and club culture to extract its tragic, frighteningly empty existential genetics as well as its higher spiritual potential. This brought about two long movement in which the sound elements of each sample are enslaved and weaponized. One per each side of their first self- released tape and one per each member of the duo, showing a different approached to a similar starting point, engaging with different concepts.

Dave Saved has digitally manipulated original materials and fragments of musical entertainment that are usually considered to be lighthearted, energetic and fun, warping them into deformed cinematic soundscapes, revealing the monstrous nature lying underneath. All the drama and existential dread that has been put aside in favor of a fun night out is restored back to life into a kind of critical aggression, but also revealed in its melancholic beauty.

For his side, NPLGNN has instead chosen a more autobiographical yet magical tone. Remodeling much of his own self-produced material, old and new, he has dilated, chop and resampled all of the sounds it in order for them to give birth to new dynamics . He has then employed them in the creation a kind of hazy dancefloor environment, an endless moment of empathic exchange."

L.O.A. - In Your Cities, What About Feelings?

For the second installment of their Forever Now, Dave Saved and NPLGNN worked together as L.O.A on a mixtape made chopping and screwing a lot of CDs containing live recordings of parties held in Naples roughly between 2001-2003 by one of the most iconic promoters crew of the city at that time called “Angels Of Love”. 

Coming from the pill smiling tribes movement of the early '90s, around '94 AOL start to bring in Naples a lot of house icons like Frankie Knuckles, Tony Humphries, Masters At Work, Kenny Carpenter etc. building a scene that was so routed in the city, especially in the suburbs and province, to become almost a kind of sub-culture involving also fashion etc.

With their meticulous work the two Neapolitan heads rearranged a lot of samples in a new sonic broken collage. More relevant here turns out to be not the music in itself but the moment that particular sample represents. 
It's a work of excavation into a sub-culture of Naples. Overpitched voices, oversatured drums and a not specified amount of Fxs to give a new born to the memory, trying to face what we can call "traditions" to give new oblique directions. Past and present suspended into a contemporary oroboros of k-holing fantasia. 
Doesn't matter where you were at that time or what you were feeling, it's the 00's dancefloor black hole, the millenium bug of those emotions, re-emerged in our days frozen now and forever.

"Forever Till No More it's an intimate recording moved from a ripped youtube video where an unknown person is answering to a self-questioned question “Are you anybody favorite person?”.

The track is a chopped and screwed 11 minutes version of the infamous record within Naples progressive rock era called Milano Calibro 9 by Osanna.

How we live our inter-personal relationships and how we connect between each other in the era of decay of truth?

From Distorted squashy kick drums bumping as hearts, passing thru stretched and granulous strings to joyfull and vaporous bells the player it's a trip thru the vast spectrum of exchange of emotions between humans."
